Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Eddie's youth camp demonstration It's the shameless overpromoter bragging up his dogs again. Eddie was invited by an obedience instructor to be part of a demonstration at a youth camp on Tuesday. The camp was was very cool. The kids learned about dogs all week, everything from dog safety to first aid. We had four dogs in the demonstration, a service dog, an agility dog, a rally dog and Eddie. His role was "class clown," I think, but it went over real well. What a bunch of cool kids. The video is a little long at 4+ minutes, so you really have to be an Eddie fan to watch the whole thing.

Therapy Dog Donating Member | OMG of course we are Eddie (and Jack!) fans. The kids loved it and you can tell..especially when Eddie played dead. Eddie is doing so well with staying in one place and not moving until you say come. I also loved the Eddie come...Eddie stop commands. Oh I really liked that red tube; it's small and looks portable. Where did you get that? It's small enough for the house and I can start to train Izzy.

| I love Eddie vidoes! He's such a cute little guy and you've obviously worked really hard with him. The best part is watching the relationship that you two have.

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | It is always so much fun watching Eddie. I think I'll send him Chelsey to train as she is my hard headed one. I had her watch the video but she just barked at Eddie!

| YAY. I love watching Eddie and I knew you were doing this so I've been waiting for a video. Eddie really is a good demonstrator... oh, and of course you're a good public speaker.

| Yay Eddie! I loved how he does the bang. So cute! Any tips on the stay command? That's a real challenge for Gizmo. He can't stand to be very far from one of us. He sits fine...stay..really bad.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Don't fret over distance on the stay. Concentrate more on time. When we started, I literally had to stand on his leash to keep him from moving. But I'd stand there for a minute before releasing him. Gradually, you add distance, but it's much easier once they grasp the concept of time. A minute is a good goal starting out.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Ha! I HATE public speaking. I used to get the shakes in college when I had to do a speech. You would have laughed if you'd seen the whole video. Out of nervousness, I guess, I was standing with my legs crossed much of the time. It looked like I had to go to the bathroom.
