| Tika right after surgery ... and still a mother hen My little, four-year-old Yorkie/Chi, Tika, just got out of surgery tonight (when this video was taken) and was still groggy from the anesthesia. Typically, Tika is a little mother hen to my six-year-old daughter, Hannah. No matter what Hannah does, Tika needs to be right in there checking things out. When I wake up Hannah for school in the morning, Tika jumps on her and tries licking her face. I think this video is cute because Tika isn't feeling well and the minute she hears Hannah's voice, she has to stop and check out what's going on. LOL She's always the mother hen ... even if she's sick.

| Tika's relationship with Hannah is proof that Tiny dogs (Tika is less than 6 lbs) and children can do well together. It just depends on the child and the dog. Tika is just as excited to see Hannah when she comes home from school as she is when she sees me if I go out.

| Cute Jamie. I hope Tika is all better soon. I agree, it really depends on how the children have been brought up. My son was about two when my mom got her second yorkie, no problems and we visited often. My two dogs adored my son when we brought him home and visa versa. He was always very gentle with them. He is now almost 25 and has never hurt an animal, in fact is studying BSc Zoology/Marine Biology ( he has wanted to "look after fishies" since he was 5yrs old I think he prefers animals to humans! He is my chief babysitter to my yorkies when hubby and I go away. I don't know what I would do without him. You have obviously done a great job with Hannah. Sheilagh
