Donating YT 14K Club Member | I wanted to poke her eyes out!! While my girls were getting their shots today (Gracie went too), there were 2 ladies in the vet's office at the counter waiting to be seen, now referred to as lady #1 and lady #2. ANYWAY, both women turned to look at my dogs. Lady #2 turns to lady #1 and says, "What kind of dogs are those?" Lady #1 replied, "yorkies." Lady #2 says and she looking at Gracie, "Wow, she is a big!" I'm like, hello, she only weighs 5 1/2 lbs (and that's because of all the extra food I've been feeding her!) Then, lady #2 looks again and says, "Those puppies are REALLY BIG!" I replied, "Well, that because they have very little time to reach their full size." Mind you these 4 girls weigh 1-2 lbs so it's not like their sasquatches or something. It really amazes me the ignorance of some people when it comes to yorkies. This woman didn't even know what breed they were to begin with and then she pops off with comments like that????? I wanted to poke her in the eyes to clear her vision a little!!!!! |

| I know. i went to the pet store to get some fish w/out Cosmo becuase I ran to Walmart too. This lady was there with her yorkie and I was trying to talk to her but she was being really rude and did not want to give me the time of the day. I turned around and wakled away and this other lady said man that lady was rude wasn't she and I just kinda nodded. Then the lady had the nerve to say well people with Yorkies think they are better then everyone else. i said excuse me I have a Yorkie and I DO NOT think that way and she just kinda shrugged her shoulders so I walked away in disgusit. How dare she say that. I didn't even want to argue with her. The nerve of some people.

| I can't believe anybody would think a 5 pound yorkie is big! some people are so stupid! I had an 11 pound yorkie and by the standards she was large but she even still looked little. People should mind their own business, Us yorkie lovers will poke their eyes out! |

| Doesn't it annoy ya when they don't know what breed they are looking at but instantly become an expert on the breed standard once they find out what you have? Does me.

| Gee whiz, and you would expect more from the freakin' vet's office, right? Morons! Sully is my 1st dog...ever....but since making the decision TO get a yorkie, I've become very breed-saavy. Not anything close to most of you guys, even, I'm sure....but at least I know most typical breeds when I see them. I'm all proud of myself when I'm able to do this, too. Today I went to a little doggie festival in the park (it was neat) and I was able to name most of the dogs by breed...the ones that were purebred, that is. But NONE of them were as awesome as my Sully. I mean, what can we say but yorkies are superior? Hehe! Browniesmom, count me in too!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I've had a similar experience with Chanel on her birthday - we walked the isles of Petco for her to get an ultimate shopping experience ...just me and my baby by ourselfves...this one woman was in line - and turned to look at Chanel who had her HUGE smile on - She asked me what kind of dog she was...and I said "a REALLY happy one" ....so she said "Yes...I see that ..but what BREED" ? When I said a yorkie - she says...."She's really big". I looked around and she was the littlest dog there....then here comes ANOTHER yorkie - She asked THAT lady the same question ....her dog was 6 lbs.... Chanel and the other yorkie weren't that much different in size - but Chanel has lots of hair - this lady then says wow - I thought yorkies were much smaller than this......DUH ! of course I told her "don't believe what you see on tv - Yorkies come in all sizes and are ALL beautiful".....I can't believe someone would try to make another person feel like they had a mutant or something - I wanted to POKE HER EYES OUT too ! |
