Hi everyone, love all of your Yorkie pics. I have a question for everyone ... wen I take pictures of my yorkie, I always get green eyes. Even when I put the red eye function on the camera, they still are green when I take the shots. I notice none all of the photos here look terrific. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you open up Buddy's pictures you will also see the emerald green
eyes. Most of my pictures come out that way as well even with
the red eye on.

Hi again, yes I did notice Buddy's green eyes as well. But so many other Yorkies don't have this problem in their photos. I am sure there is something I can do to prevent this .... just haven't figured it out yet.

Any other replies would be appreciated.

I think it's the camera you use....the green eye happens to me but I don't have a very good camera. I hate the green eyes!!! lol Myabe with a photo program you can fix it.

Chloe's almost never turn out green, I don't know what I'm doing? LOL I can't imagine my camera being good enough to stop the green? It's not a very good camera.

All I can say is try using natural light without a flash, because the red/green eye is caused by a reflection of the light from the camera flash that is coming off of the retina in their eyes.

Thanks for the posts everyone. I believe my flash is always on even when there is plenty of lighting indoors. I am going to shut off the flash next time and see how it goes. I am using a newer digital camera so I am not sure if it is the camera or ME!!

Her dog's name is Sully (I THINK).

I don't know what the difference between greeneye and redeye is in pictures, but they are both caused by the flash being too close to the lens. That's why professional photographers use special flash mounts to position the flash farther away, and often off to the side, of the lens.

Unfortunately, there's no easy fix for us amateurs who don't want to hassle with a separate flash. I either live with greeneye or touch it up in photoshop.

Ki Yi Yippie - I just managed to download a pic!!! I have been months trying to figure out how to do this. This is Remington just chillin' in his first shirt - a surfing Tee. He chilled so long, he fell asleep
