| Just going to my bed, so if I don't reply again, don't worry, will speak again later. If the puppies are bald, it could be just not a lot of hair yet, but that would surprise me, as any I've had have plenty. You will need them vet-checked anyway - vaccinations, etc, and I would just ask them to check that they don't have mange mites. Ask these questions to yourself..... Are you sure about where they came from ? (Often pups from farms or outside stalls can have mites) Are they itchy at all......do they scratch or bite themselves ? Is their skin red and/or scaley ? Or black ? Is their skin greasy ? Did the breeder tell you they were FRONTLINED ? If you are not sure, or think you have been lied to, then ask the vet for advice....you could phone them first, as they can't charge you a consultation fee for advice over the phone. The treatment would be simple if this turns out to be mite infestation....but it could spread to any other animals you have, so do check up on it. If there are obvious bald patches I would be concerned. This will stress out your pups if left untreated, and will affect their general health, and all it takes is a special shampoo, and an injection to clear all this up....and it's not expensive. I recently bought a wee girly that needed this treatment last October, and she is the picture of health compared to what she was when I got her....her hair is now all thick and growing. Too late for her ears I'm afraid....just tatters left - but she is a different dog. I am crossing my fingers that everything is fine...it probably is, but it does no harm to check. GOOD LUCK I'm sure it'll be fine....DEBRA |
