| Introducing Pippy! We have now had Pippy, formerly "poppy" , for a week now.She is everything and nothing that we ever dreamed for..LOL let me explain. We drove 114 miles to get her last Saturday, with visions of a dog who was already in a loving home, but needing rehomed due to an older pet not accepting her.Well we got there and boy..what a shock.....this was the grottiest, most run down place on the planet....and I have actually been to several hard done to places in America..well let me assure you this place was on it's last legs for sure. I thought, nevermind, don't judge a person by where they have to live, as I personally have been homeless, and know life can deal bad cards sometimes.Well we got in and the pooch was there, all wiggles and fusses....I went to pet her..OH MY GOD!!!! She was nothing but skin and bones...not a hint of meat to be found on the sad sight. Her fur, which I knew was outta condition, had been blamed on her puppies, this was not puppies putting her coat outta condition...it was mites for sure, her ears, bless her soul, had been cut to make perfect triangles, and the inner ears were red and raw.I was in shock ....this lady had a s**tzu that was a big fat tubby thing, and a persian cat that made garfield look skinny, then you see this sad state of a pup...and think..can she not see this same dog I am looking at?Well being who we are, hubby and I could not leave her there, and though her price was beyond a joke, to me this little life..such a lovely happy soul....was worth saving. The whole way home I was upset, once more my dreams of having "precious pup" were dashed. This was no pedigree from good stock, this was yet again a puppymill pup, just like Moe.I was so sad for myself and for her, I felt bad and selfish that she wasn't the pristeen princess I wanted, then on one of our toilet stops, I leaned to her in the back and she looked up at me with her eyes, there was so much love and appreciation...For what? I havn't done anything yet.I knew..she truely would be a precious pup...because her soul was shining right through them lil brown eyes..and she was deffinately a soft gentle soul in need of love and help. For the rest of the ride home I was happy that my Christmas present, was not only for me, but for her. That night it was raining when we got home, so I tried to put a pair of moes shoes on her, one front paw..fine, second front paw..YELP!!! I looked closer...her dew claw was the size of a green grape! Red angry and full of puss! The next morning I got her straight in to the vets office, and was to be once more enraged. This vet was rude, rushing me and saw nothing concerning about this dog! I pointed out the things that bugged me, including the dew claw....nope thats not worrying her...WHAT!!??!! The poor baby had a high temp, so the lady gave her a shot for that and sent us away.....did I mention at the start of this visit I had mentioned the circumstances surrounding this pup, and that I had only just got her, so a muzzle migh be a good idea? yup and first thing in this visit that vet got bit.....for trying to take her away from me to weigh her.I thought Lordy..what have we got here..a biter? I later figured it to be fear biting.I had to be the medic on the paw, and began wrapping it with antibiotic ointments to draw out the poison. That next day we also encountered very large tape worms in her poo, which was an answer to her being so severly underweight.Well I took her to another vet in adifferent practice, have her now on antibiotic pills, anti worm pills, and anti mite treatment. She is being fed on a regiment of good nutrition and several small meals to try to build her back up.She is a lovely little girl with a wonderful personality, now that her first week is over, we are starting to see her growth, she is coming out of her shell a bit and her and Moe are desperately in Love.....as pals.....wrestle play tug o war..you name it..all day long.I am so glad we took her, as we can see the light at the end of this tunnel and it looks bright.

| Oh, she IS precious!!! She just sounds like a great fit for you and your bunch, too! That first vet....GRRRRR! Was she your regular vet?! I bet poor Pippy picked up on her lack of caring, and bit her out of her fear and pain and misery. Looking forward to seeing pics of this little sweetie as she blossoms amid love and spoiling! (There were two puppy mill rescues I had my hopes up for last week....one missing a back leg...but I wasn't chosen for their furever home. )
