One more question: How long did it take you to get her to stack? Dixie is my 1st Yorkie, and I've never shown before....I'm trying to get a mentor, but can't find one out here....I've been working with her for the last month just putting her in the position I want her in, and leaving her there for a minute or two, then letting her run around, then doing it again. I'll have to make a thread with pictures of her stacking (if you can call it that)

She just has no clue what I'm doing to her. lol! She knows she's gorgeous though. She actually POSES for her pictures! lol! Oh, and does Ava have a natural tail???

Holy moly she is beautiful but I dont think she will reach 4lbs my girl was born in jan and I got her 2 months ago she has not gained a pound I was hoping she would get to 4lbs

Leslie, your AVA is very, very beautiful . . . although I think she wasn't too thrilled with you showing her off as she ain't smiling

I love, love her long coat. She and Annika are about the same age. Annika was born 2/26/06. I would love to hear more of her when you do show her. I am hoping to show my Annika too but only when the AKC club comes to town in May

I'm brand new at this too.

But stack is basically getting her to stand right. You want her topline to be straight, and her feet to be lined up.

I think Annika would make an awesome show dog!! She's gorgeous.

you think she has the looks? Oh that's good news. I do know she has CH bloodline but never thought to show her off until we went to go watch one and her cousin placed

Her trainer has been showing her dogs and so she told me I need to sign her up for conformation (sp?). Will they teach her to stack as part of the lesson.

But like I said, I'm new to the "showing" world. YorkieK9Trainer probably has more experience, so she could help you out more.

Dixie, too, has CH bloodlines (80+ champions in her pedigree). It's possible they'll show you how to teach her to stack, but it'd be a miracle if she learned it in one lesson.

It takes lots of practice. They should show you how to do it though.

I think I will Annika's trainer a visit and have her show me how to stack her . . so I can get her to practice even before she starts her lessons in Feb. Oh can you post a link so I can see Dixie?

Ava is absolutely beautiful! I saw the website and all the yorkies were beautiful.

Umm, I sat her down and that's what she looked like. That's called a self stack.
