For those who asked me to share my coat secrets here it goes. First I always have to try every product I hear about, I don't know just a bad habit I guess $$$$. I always bathe every week, no ifs, ands or buts. I start by trimming the egdges of the coats to promote growth and give that nice even clean finish. I do this before I bathe. So i brush the coat dry, to everyones amuzement because I feel when I mist it with water mixed with whatever its alot hard to brush and I end up with more hair in the brush. So I brush through with my CC 27mm Gold series brush. Then when we are all brush I go ahead and trim the tips of the hair with some trimming siccors from the $1 store, they work great. Then I move on to doing my top third of the ears in the V-Shape . After the ears we move to pads. Next we hit the tub. Warm water I first use Top Paw (cheap flea&tick) shampoo leave it in for about 3 minutes and then rinse. Next I use the real deal which is La Pooch shampoo and leave it in for about 5 minutes to allow it to do its thing. www.lespoochs.com Then while she is in La Pooch shampoo we brush teeth. After 5 minutes in shampoo we rinse and apply Maine and Tail conditioner and leave it in for about the same time as the shampoo. After the few minutes I rinse the conditioner and towel dry (NO RUBBING) gently pressing the towel against the coat to absorb and much water as possible. When we still are wet after we towel dry I apply #1 ALL SYSTEMS "Get It Straight" coat oil. I apply it all over from head to tail. I then start to brush the coat while wet, the oil makes it easier, making sure its nice and straight no matts and tangles. After I start drying with I normal personal dryer in a warm setting. I start the drying using my CC 27mm Gold Series brush and as it glides easier I use a metal pin brush to achieve the straight finish look. After we are totally dry I do my topknot. At the end of the day I apply COWBOY MAGIC to leave the coat easy to manage the rest of the week. What COWBOY MAGIC does it provide easy of brushing and gives the shine as well as the #1 ALL SYSTEMS "Get it Straight " that I apply before drying while the coat is still wet. I find the oils make each strand of hair silky straight and prevent tangling also giving the shine. I apply oil as needed during the week. Well that my secret. I hope I didn't leave anything out.
