i so so so didnt realize that getting neutered and getting castrated were the same thing.

sigh.

my baby doesnt have balls anymore. i robbed him of his manhood. i feel bad.

i just thought they cut some cords or something, not take away his manlyness.

shucks:(

poor thing is so drunk from the meds and so sleepy.

Don't feel bad, Mikey. You did a good thing for you and your pup. He'll be healthier, happier and won't pee all over your house for the next 16 years. And he'll be no less of a man because of it.

Here's a neutered boy who's all man.

Mikey, I agreed with Alaska. Your pup will be healthier and you didn't took away his manliness. He will be fine. He is adorable by the way.:D

I just got my boy neutered tiday and he's pretty out of it. You did a good thing. He will be much happier!

btw...did your vet give you pain meds? Mine didn't.

Mikey, you really did do the right thing. You will have a very healthy and well adjusted boy on your hands from now on! Oscar was neutered at 9 months and he is still very manly!!!

and yeah the vet gave us pain meds and an antibiotic. i <3 our vet.

baxter is still really out of it. he walked into a chair earlier. poor baby.

There are always Neuticles as an option, which are testicular prosthetic implants for neutered pets. And no, it's not a joke, they really do sell this.

I've seen plenty of Yorkie boys that were neutered that still have a fun, active life! Baxter will bounce back and be normal in no time! :)

Yep, Kirby is a 'gelding' too! I know it seems a little harsh, especially to us guys :eek: but Kirby is just as happy and doesn't seem to miss them at all! :D

You're a good daddy, Mikey. He'll be happier in the long run, and healthier.

My hubby, Cal, was really sympathizing with Topher when he went in for his neutering two weeks ago...I told my vet about this (she knows him well) so she gave me something after the surgery to give to him...she put Tophers little bits in a jar to give to hubby...lol...all Cal could do was wince and squeeze his knees together! hehe Topher recovered so quickly...he was up and running around the very next day. Hubby, on the other hand still grimaces when we talk about it! You poor guys really seem to empathize. ;)

Oh you did the right thing. When we took Poncho in he was out of it for most of the day. But by morning, he was back to his old self, except for his little balls were now raisin's. LOL Not to worry, raisin's are healthy! Have a great weekend Mikey! :D :D :D :D

You'll be glad you did. I had Parker fixed at 4months old. He would pee everywhere before:):rolleyes: , Now, just one month later.... what a difference. He is 98% potty trained. He is all boy too!!!!

I was doing a search and found this thread...I have a question here...my Bailey was neautered about two/three months ago and is doing great. (He has not in the least lost his manhood ;o) However, my question is this, when he gets very excited, he gets hard and I SWEAR he has testicles!!! You can only tell when he is excited....does anyone know what these are if not his testicles (which should be history!!) Thanks!!

Well, he wasn't getting a vasectomy, ya know. Kinda makes ya cringe doesn't it? LOL. You'll be glad you did and he'll never miss them. ;)

I've seen that also.. but they are up some, internally.. what is that??

I believe they are glands. Logan gets them too when he gets erect.

LOL....re-appearing balls....now ya see 'em...now ya don't ;)

We had a dog neutered once.....his lack of equipment did NOT stop him with the ladies, if ya know what I mean. Nope, now he was tellin' them....it's ok, I'm fixed, ya won't get pregnant. ;)

I have yet to have Lex neutered. I am most likely leaving him intact.
