Hi. I am actually not going to show my yorkie, but I just like the ways hers look standing up. I took a picture and in it she was laying down and her ears flopped back, and they looked nice. If they don't stand after a couple tries, I will leave them floppy. Alot of people who see Lola, like her ears floppy. It is all good either way.

I've had 2 floppy eared yorkies and 2 with erect ears. I like them either way.

When I took Liberty to get groomed the first time my groomer asked me if I wanted her ears to stand up. and she trimmed them so that they would stand up looks great and the hair is growing back.. my mom has a yorkie that she got when he was 2 1/2 years old from my cousin who didn't want his ears to stand up so she never trimmed them and my mom has tried several times to get his ears to stand and they won't. I think that it is important to do it while they are young. Good Luck Liberty and Laura

Hey, Thanks. I noticed that worked alot (the whole shaving idea) Because Lola's ears were already halfway up, when I shaved 3/4 of the hair on her ears off. I will see how they are tomorrow. I am seeing results though, which is good. Well, will just have to wait and see, but thanks for the input. By the way, Lola is 4months, so I think it is still possible right? Thanks again all!

Both of my yorkies have floppy ears. I tried trimming the hair and taping them and their ears stood for a day after I removed the tape. I decided not to re-tape them because neither of them liked the tape very much and they seemed like they were feeling so much discomfort when I was taking the tape off that I didn't want to put them (or me) through that again. So both have floppy ears.

Good luck! Ginger's ears were down, then up, then one up and one down, then both up for about 3 weeks, then down forever... remember, whatever happens, floppy ears are cute too!

Hey everyone. As an update, her ears are halfway up. I decided not to tape them again because I felt bad. (I agree with the whole situation of discomfort) She hated it. And since I am not going to show her, and she is healthy and happy, she can stay natural. I did shave the ears, but I won't do it again. Floppy is cute, and so is Lola. Thanks everyone though for the advice, tips, and experiences.

Ollie's ears have come up. We took the tape off today. She also barked her first bark. Actually it sounded more like a cat than a dog. It made us laugh. After and before pictures Jeanie Last edited by JeanieK; 03-01-2006 at 11:28 AM.
