| 'Expecting' yorkie mom here! Hi! Been lurking last few days so thought I'd introduce myself. I've found so much great info on this forum. In the days of fb groups, a good ol forum is refreshing. We are picking up our baby Yorkie Labor Day weekend! She'll be just past 12 weeks old and we are naming her Fancy! And her breeder says that's a very fitting name for her! We chose her over her sister bc her breeder says she feisty and has best personality out of litter. We can't wait! Any advice for a new small dog mom? We've had a 60lb lab and a 20-30lb rescue before so this little one will be new to us! We have a 5 and 6 year old son/daughter that are going to be super surprised in a couple weeks! (And they are great around small dogs, thier Nana has a 5lb mix.) Attached a couple of my favorite pics from breeder over last couple weeks |

| Welcome to YT and congrats on your soon to be new baby girl. She is just ADORABLE. If you have never owned a yorkie lol life as you knew it will be over, and if she was the feistiest one lol oh brother lol. Her little eyes tells it all lol, YES I see Miss miscief maker lol. Start puppy proofing your home, get all wires off the floor and put up out of the reach of this is feisty lil girl, meaning all lamp, TV, stereo wires. Yorkies are very mischievous lil critters, they LOVE getting into mischief. They will get into places you would not believe. And like a 2 yo child everything they find will go in their mouth. Puppies are HIGH ENERGY and will be zooming through your home. Glad to know your youngsters are familiar with tiny babies and know how to be gentle with them they are wiggly lil worms when held so keep an eye on your children when they want to cuddle the baby. You and your family are in for much fun and laughter as yorkies are little clowns. Read everything you can on this breed, they are highly intelligent, very smart, full of personality, and VERY DEMANDING lol,she will capture the hearts of your entire family in a blink of an eye lol. Enjoy her and keep us posted on her life and your family's when you get her, I am soooo excited for you.

| Beautiful name for a beautiful girl!!! My recommendation is to get an Iris pen now, and a Buddy Belt when she is old enough for a halter. Mine has escaped from cheap halters too many times and these little puppies are FAST.

| I am so excited for you!! I would warn each person in your household to really start watching where they step, check the floor before you move or sit. I got a puppy a month ago, Loki, and he likes to follow me around the house. I have two other dogs, a Lhasa and a Maltese. I got Loki for a playmate for the Maltese because the Lhasa doesn't play at all. And I am soooo smitten! I have bought clothes and all kinds of fun things for him that I did not do with the other two..which makes me feel kind of bad. The maltese girl is a sweetheart and I think I had better get her some more clothes Anyway, stock up on grooming supplies now. Get a good shampoo and conditioner and a pin brush and good comb. I got the Madan brush, and the difference is huge...he hated the other brushes but likes the Madan! (As long as I avoid the tummy area which is a bit matted because he is losing some puppy fuzz.) Congrats!!!! |

| My groomer uses Hansens Pet Systems and sells it to her customers. Baths no closer than 7 - 10 days. Yorkies don't like their feet messed with so every day hold gently and massage her feet so when she starts getting her nails trimmed she won't freak out. Big mistake I made, not doing this with Buddybear. Lots to learn......Yorkies are Waaaaay different from other dogs, jmho lol.
