YorkieTalk Newbie! | Please allow myself to introduce.... my Puppy! First picture post of my our first family doggie Ruby! She is 4 months old and 3.1 pounds. We got her last week and she has learnt "sit" "come" "down" "fetch" and "GO PEE" this week. I'm soooooooooo tired! But it's all starting to paying off. She's eating Science Diet toy breed puppy and LOVES it. Blue Buffalo (stinky farts and she didn't go crazy for it) She has a BELL on her collar a harness. Took a walk around the block after the rain stopped without refusing. She was carried through a 5K yesterday with my family Currently, house training to go outside. I take her out OFTEN. It rained today. I placed a puppy pad down by the back door that we go out of and which I bought for emergencies like this and she totally peed on it three times today! (pats self on back) GO PEE! GOOD GO PEE!!!! I am totally new to doggy world. Joined here for a massive education and friendships! I am looking for lots of advice... I think we are cruising along now but I don't know what I don't know! Currently looking for a training thread. Maybe we will just start the petco classes next week. She is really smart and I don't want to mess her up with confusing commands etc. Also, grooming. I want to keep her looking like a puppy for as long as possible. Links or pics of cute puppy cuts welcome! *** Stay at home mama to 2 female humans 8 and 10 and 1 female 4 month old pluppy yorkie dork.*** |

| She is adorable and smart too. Be careful with puppy training classes. I took my first yorkie to puppy training at the Petco in Poway. Everyone was told to keep control of their dogs. A dumb lady with a big yellow lab puppy let it jump on Gina and scared her so badly she never got over it. Gina would never even look at a dog - would turn her head and look the other way. Just be very careful around bigger pups. Some people have no sense.

| Congrats!!! She's adorbs!!! And so smart too! I totally remember how tiring it was at first and the outdoor potty training (OMG - we got Scottie in Oct and it rains for 3-4 months straight here!). Good work on the basic commands training! Keep practicing it religiously and positively reinforcing it. Hehe...she might randomly forget it all during her adolescents' stage (anywhere from 6-12 months)

YorkieTalk Newbie! | I'm such a ding dong. I can't figure out how to reply to people individually. Doesn't help that I'm on an iPhone. I want to say thank you everyone for the puppy compliments. I am wrapped around her little pinky paw for sure. Special thank you to the poster from Poway! I will be on high alert thanks to you. I'd also love a playdate if you would like to meet up. |
