The puppies are here! Yorkie/Chinese Crested Mix 4 Attachment(s) The puppies arrived this morning. We are getting one of the puppies in a few months. Puppy number 1 is the big boy. Black and tan Puppy number 2 female? Black Puppy number 3 Male? Brown and tan Puppy number 4 Black with a little white on her chest. Female Puppy number 5 Black female (only 1 I did not get a picture of) There was some confusion this morning about puppy 2 and 3's gender. As they were born she told me that puppy 2 was a female and then I didn't hear anything until puppy 4 was born and she said that the first 2 born were males and the last 2 born were females, which made me question if 2 and 3 gender are correct. I think these are correct, but I will find out later for sure. Then puppy #5 arrived :) We get to go see the puppies in about a month and then will decide which one we want and then go back and get it when they are ready to go home! How exciting!!! I can't wait to see how they look when you get to take one home!! Interesting combo! |
So this isn't your litter, then? So exciting that you will be getting a new puppy! Enjoy getting ready for your new baby. Can't wait to see which one you choose. Congratulations! |
Aww. how cute .. Congrats on your soon to be new pup ..:) |
The puppies are a very dear friend of mine. We grew up in the same town, went to high school together and now she lives in the house I grew up in! So, the puppies were born in the house I lived in until I was 21 years old. How cool is that? She owns both parents, so I know both of them. We are looking at either the lighter of the brown and tan pups or the smallest of the females. However, we are not making a decision until we see them early in April. Then we can make a decision about which one we want and then when it is ready go back and get it. They are located 12 hours from where I live, but we go there often as it is where my husband and I are both from and he has family 4 miles from my friend's house. I go and visit her every time I am up there and I go up there about 6 times a year so getting the puppy back home is not a big deal. We are so excited about it! It is my daughter's 17th birthday present (her birthday is in 3 days). She knows about it and has final say in which puppy she gets. It will be fun though. I will help train it and everything. |
Take all 5 of them!!!!!!!! lol Gosh.. such hard decision... Congrats and good luck! |
I have never seen an ugly puppy in my life |
I can't wait to see what they look like. Congratulations! |

We are just looking for a great puppy for our teenage daughter (it will be fixed at 6 months old) and I think this will be perfect for her and have a great personality. Both dogs are awesome and since I know them both, I feel we will get a good Pet. |

Saw the picture of the CC Powder Puff. Very cute! The pups will be darling indeed. I had a picture in my mind of the naked CC with a few wisps of hair on it's topknot. Not so cute. |

I think the puppies will be adorable myself. |
Last CC I saw was absolutely beautiful. I know nothing about the breed but she was stunning with beautifully groomed hair. Curious to see what the mix will look like. Congrats OP on your new pup. You must be so excited! |
The puppy we choose 1 Attachment(s) We finally got a picture of puppy #5! As soon as my daughter saw it she knew this was the one she wanted. Her birthday is in 2 days and this is her birthday present and she knows she won't get it for a few months, but she knows she is getting it. My daughter is turning 17. I have a bunch of stuff for her ready to give her on Friday, a dog bed, some blankets, a tiny collar, a small dog harness, etc. She is planning to call her Raksha. I think she is beautiful. My first Grandpuppy! Attachment 404703 |
What a beautiful present! |
Aww, they're beautiful! One of the prettiest dogs I have ever seen was a CC/poodle cross. The hair she did have was curly. Can't wait to see how your pup grows! Congratulations and Happy Birthday to your daughter! |
1 Attachment(s) Today is my daughter's 17th birthday. I plan to have this printed as a picture and give it to her along with the doggie gifts I got her to get her started with a puppy. She has a new crate, dog bed, dog toys, collar, harness, leash. She also got a class ring for her birthday as well. Here is the puppy she is getting. Attachment 404720 I do apologize to those people that don't agree with mixes. I am not trying to upset people by being excited about a Yorkie mix puppy, but we are excited and for those that are upset at me for getting a mix puppy I am sorry. I think personally this is a great gift for a 17 year old and if I wanted to spend $1500 or more on her then I should buy her a car or put it in her college fund. A free puppy that I know both parents of and was born in the house that I lived in until I was 21 years old is an amazing gift for my daughter. |
:bigbdaypa :bigbdaypa :bigbdaypa Happy birthday Jahryn, your little Raksha is just beautiful and will bring much joy and laughter into your life. I hope you have an awesome special day. (((HUGS)))) from Joan and Cody |
"Happy birthday" to your daughter and wishing her a wonderful experience with her new baby. And yes it is a very special thing you did for her, getting her exactly what she wanted !!! PS Puppy is adorable ( no matter what the mix). |
:) awwww |
Happy Birthday to your daughter I know it will be an awesome one for her, the puppy looks darling. Don't apologize for getting a mix it's everyone's right to get the dog of their choice. But LOL of course I am biased because I think I have the best mixed yorkie there ever was:D:D Hope it works out that I can come meet you guys when you drive out to MI to pick the puppy up. |

You should not feel you need to apologize. I am a part of the "yorkie mix club" and I wouldn't change anything about her. Well, maybe just her size. If I could add 2 pounds to her, I would! Other than that, she is perfect to me. |

She has another year of high school and plans to attend the local community college (15 mins away) for 2 years. Then she might go away to college, but it is only 2 hours away so she would come home at least a weekend a month or more. If the dog is 3 1/2 before she goes to college and comes home frequently I think it will be fine. It will still be her dog and then she will come back home from college until she finds a place and then can take her with her. I think the dog will be old enough and see her frequently enough to know she is still hers, plus she will be loved here. You wouldn't believe all the stuff I have for this puppy! She has a new crate. 2 dog beds, 4 baby blankets, a package of pee pads, 5 or 6 toys, puppy nyla bones, puppy dog biscuits, 2 dresses, 1 T Shirt, 2 cute collars, a harness and matching leash. A storage container with paw prints on it to store treats for her in. She has a huge pile of stuff. We can't wait to bring her home in a few months! |
Hi Jade Pet Insurance http://www.hsvma.org/assets/pdfs/gui...-disorders.pdf I am assuming that your friends do not know the lineage of either of the breeding pair in terms of health and did no pre breeding screening tests. As you may or may not be aware the Yorkshire Terrier is I believe at risk for over 20 genetic diseases, and the Chinese Crested a half dozen or so. Breeding mixes does not guarantee in anyway you don't double up on the recessives. Or in other words have a dog with the best chance of good health. The report above is easy to read and you can see for yourself what they all are. It probably is a wise idea to secure as early as possible full insurance coverage for genetic diseases for this new pet. |
There is no guarantee with any dog. Sometimes you just take a puppy and do the best you can with it. Almost every dog I get is a rescue dog and believe me, you have no idea what their past lives are like, or their lineage. You just love it to the best of your ability. |

I hear you. But at least with this one (which is not a rescue), you can cover the dog while they are very young. I always now recommend (along with buying from a good breeder who health tests), pet insurance. I self insured for many years, and know first hand the costs of multiple health issues. At least with pet insurance you have some flexibility on the financial end of things. I also think that folks should know of the health issue(s) with any particular breed or in this case the mix of two purebreds . Planning on the financial front is as responsible as planning for toys n beds n food and training. |
