| Lola's summer haircut This is the first major haircut I've given her. I think it turned out pretty good, and it was easier than I thought it would be. I haven't cut her face yet though, I'm afraid. |

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | Look pretty nice for your first time, believe me it take a lot of practice to prefect the right look and learn how to use the grooming tools correctly. I actually prefer a shorted hair cut on the face , it really does make a huge difference and ties the look all together. Below is Ruby; one with longer hair and one with shorted hair on her face. You can see that it only takes just a small amount of hair removed to change her look.

Her face hasn't been cut since early November, so it defiantly needs to be cut. In a week or so I'm going to work on her legs a bit more and try trimming her face. She was spayed 4/3 (the main reason for the haircut) so I don't want to do any cutting until the incision heals. Ruby is beautiful. Thanks ~~~~~~~~~ The first picture was taken last night, it shows her current face length. Not the best picture of her but she was tired and only interested in the treat in my hand. The second is from Christmas, I like the length of her face there.

| It doesn't surprise me that she looks better than the pro groomer. I have had the same experience. I did have a wonderful groomer but he moved and he was the only one I thought really knew how to cut a yorkie's coat. She looks cute to me, the cut looks nice. My only suggestion would be to thin out the rear end so it's not too fluffed out. Thinning shears work well for stuff like that.

I actually did thin out her rear, I guess I didn't do it enough though.

| You did a great job, I haven't tried just trimming like that before... I always shave them down and then it grows out from there.
