| Dumb things I did with and to my Yorkie Ok here it is True Confessions (or made up ones as long as they are hysterically funny). Probably one of the dumbest grooming mistakes I made was..... Chattie was a puppy - just a little tyke with not enough hair to put up in a decent topnot. Well, we were making the treck down to PetSmart and I wanted her to look really good. So, being the really smart individual that I am I decided to use some of the hair glue that I use on the mini horses to glue in bows and ribbons and bells, etc into their mane. I thought it was a GREAT idea, same stuff that human dogs use to glue on hair extensions..... With the horses the glue comes right out, I can scrape it off with my fingernail and a little baby oil. In PetSmart parking lot I glued in the bow and I tell you what Chattie was stylin' and profilin' got huge amounts of attention and was the prettiest dog in PetSmart even if I do say so myself. When we got home and it was time to take the bow out, I rubbed it with baby oil and guess what..... the glue would NOT come out. It took weeks for me to "tease" tiny bits of glue out of my baby girl's topnot. Of course the bow was ruined. Please learn from this DUMB mistake. Do not use hair glue to attach a bows in puppy topnots! Last edited by chattiesmom; 01-05-2006 at 08:57 PM. |

| That is too funny!!! I know who it is to want to put pretty bows on a girl (furbaby or a human baby) Both my daughters had no hair. They didn't get a good full head of hair till they were almost 2. So I used to tape bows to their heads. People thought I was crazy. One time I had to use baby oil on Val to get it out because it was really suck on good. My poor Val. My son on the other hand had a full set of hair and was even getting hair cuts at 10 months. Go figuare.

| she sure has very nice coloring. Very bold. I wish Matthias would allow me to put stuff in his hair. He just fights me on that and when I win, he scratches it out. *sigh*

| Ok so this was recent but TOTALLY UNEXPECTED..So I have been dating someone for a couple of months now. I was invited to his parents' house to meet the WHOLE family (aunts uncles grandparents cousins, ect). They love Coco so they invited me to bring her as well. So I put her in her pretty dress that Shana made for her, with a cut bow in a topknot. I was sooooo pleased with myself. She just looked smashing, as did I..lol... So I decided that I would take her stroller so I could keep her in there without holding her the whole time and she wouldn't feel so overwhelmed with all the people there. I get to their house and shaking everyone's hand, ect. and in the corner of my eye I see Coco's head sticking straight up in the stroller. Upon closer inspection I realized that her bow was caught in the netting of the stroller, poor baby...lol...I couldn't stop laughing because she had this look of "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU WOULD EMBARRASS ME LIKE THIS".

| My Little Greaser Poor Nikko is in desperate need of a haircut but I don't want to go yet because it is so cold out here, I want to leave the haircut for when the weather gets warmer. His bangs are completely in his eyes and he won't stay still enough for me to clip them properly and top knots are out of the question because he won't stay still. I read on here that some people use vaseline to slick back their hair so that it won't fall in their eyes and decided to try it. I think I put a little too much of it because the poor boy looked like a 1950's greaser As if that wasn't bad enough, he shook his head all over the place (I guess he felt weird with his hair plastered to his head) and the next thing I know, my Nikko had greasy clumps of hair standing straight out of his head in all directions I had to wash all that grease out and believe me it was no easy task. Needless to say, i won't be trying that again!!
