Congradulations on getting your new furbaby. Your life will never be the same, in a good way. The name are cute. My niece is having a baby in a couple of months and we have been look at names too. I saw Bailey spelled like Baylee which I thought was cute. Just thought I would share. My next yorkie I am going to name it LouLou, I think it is cute. Tried to get my niece to name her baby that, but no go. lol I have ramble enough...................Cindy

| There are a bzillion baby names out there! Before our little granddaughter was born my Mandy put us all through the "wringer" ... did polls ... narrowed the list down ... made us vote, etc.!! Finally settled on Abbi [Mandy thought the spelling was so unique ... she had NEVER seen it spelled that way] ... shortly after Abbi was born we were on a trip to Chicago and went through some road construction. There it was ... HUGH caution signs which said "Please Drive Carefully .... My Mommy Works Here!! [signed] ABBI"!!! I laughed so hard I could hardly hang my camera out the window to make pictures to show Mandy!!!

bettyeanne: just goes to show you that unless you name your kid Xzaqwpi or something, any name you have thought of has already been thought of by someone else. :P

Yo-Yo If I get another Yorkie, I would call it "Yo-Yo" and would be a boy, so could keep Cosita company. -R

Hi everyone! I am so excited and starting to get nervous, my baby is coming home on Sunday August 29th. She is so cute and I can't wait to see her. I still haven't decided on a name, so I am hoping that when I see her something will click. My dog Misha will be so thrilled to have a "sister" she gets lonely when I am gone for 5 minutes, and she loves when other little dogs are around to play with. It seemed like forever when I found out that I couldn't bring her home until she was at least 8 weeks, but it came really fast. I hope that all of your babies are doing wonderful. Shanna

Ana, is your other dog a yorkie also? I started school today, but the longest that I am away for is an hour at a time an hour and a half at the most, I wish that I could be home with her all of the time when she gets here, but that is not possible right now. I hope that she will be ok. Misha will take care of her, and one of my friends will be staying with her when I am gone most of the time. Do you guys have to leave your babies alone very often? Do you use crates, playpens, something else, or just let them run around. How soon did everyone start bathing their babies? What type of dog food do you use? Ok ok, I know that I ask too many questions, I'll stop. Any advice is much appreciated though since the people on this board are experts on raising yorkies who better to ask right.

We feed Yoda Royal Canin 28 dry food. We also cook him chicken (no additional flavor, just steamed chicken). When we leave him alone, we usually block off the kitchen area and he can roam around there. We leave a cushion, some clothing of ours, and we also leave on classical music. Generally, he just sleeps until he hears that we are home. Also, we leave out the dry food and water for him.

Shanna!! I'm excited for YOU!! We can compare our yorkies progress together maybe as they are close in age?! Oh YES my other dog - Gypsy Rose is a yorkie all right!! She's an absolute dream! What type of dog is Misha? - she sounds kind and I'm sure will make a great sister for your pup! I worry that I may upset Gypsy Rose by having Gizzie (the name I decided on for the pup) but until recently she had a big "brother" whom we sadly lost at age 14, and we've had a dog to stay since and she was happy enough. I remember I bathed Gypsy Rose quite early on - she was fine and the vet recommended BABY shampoo for her rather than puppy shampoo. When you get your baby don't change the diet that the breeder has been feeding her for quite a while and then do it gradually. I did this and Gypsy didn't have even a sign of an upset tummy. Bet you are not counting the DAYS now but the HOURS?!! Keep in touch!! Love, Ana xx

Ana, I would love to compare their progress, you can help me with the questions I have since you already have a yorkie. Misha is a shi-tzu poodle mix she is really cute, it's like she got the best aspects of both breeds. It is always a worry that the dogs won't get along well, but I think that if they have been around other dogs and like their companionship then they will do fine (or I should say that I hope). Misha weighs around 9 lbs so she will be bigger than the new puppy, but not that much that I have to be really nervous I don't think. Thanks for the bathing and feeding tips. I will post when I have her home on Sunday, I can't wait. Take care. Shanna

Well, she is finally home! She is so cute and sweet. She has followed me all over the house and now is whining because I am typing instead of paying attention to her. I have to be really careful though because she is so little, fast, and always right by my feet. She is getting along good with Misha and Pip the cat. I had to run outside to my car and when I came back in they were playing. Misha pouted for awhile, but she seems better now. It was a long day for her, because the drive home is kinda long, and then there was construction, and then when I was pulling in I wasn't paying attention and scraped my car on a pole. Well anyway she is as cute and playful as I hoped and I will post pics soon. Shanna
