Did he show any sings of being a little male doggie at this age. Our vet said we should have him done at 5 to 5 1/2 months to stop all of the male things.

Our little girl is 3 lbs and he said not to breed her unless the male was really small like her.

So were thinking of having her fixed at first heat and saving Sir Bentley because he comes from good champion blood lines.

Any opinions on what you think? Or have them both fixed

Yeah...I would be tripping too if someone tried to touch me where I just had surgery. I pictured him thinking "what the heck!" "no...I don't think so" lol

She is way to small to be bred. Among other reasons. Even if the male is small the babies can still be big or normal size. Glad you're going to get her spayed. It has lots of health benefits.
I think you should get him fixed if you don't plan on using him as a stud.

Awww! Precious little angles! I'm glad he is doing good. And I personally love that he loves pink!!! Tee hee! That is my favorite color! Tee hee! And look at how good Sophia is helping out! So sweet!

I am sorry....I tried to just pass over this, but I just can not do it.....I tried to underline your sentence above about what the vet told you....for a vet to make a statement like that is just a little frightening to me....YOU MUST NEVER CONSIDER HAVING A 3 POUND FEMALE BRED, EVEN IF THE MALE WERE TO WEIGH 12 OZ!!!! IT IS NOT WHAT THESE TWO DOGS WEIGH...IT IS WHAT IS BEHIND THEM FOR GENERATIONS THAT DICTATE HOW BIG THE BABIES WILL BE!!!!!! A 3# female is toooooooooo small to be bred by anything!!!! Her little uterus is only maybe the length of your middle finger...now, imagine putting a puppy, or even 3-4 puppies in the length of your middle finger, even if it stretches to twice its size!!!!! Can you say, "RUPTURED UTERUS"? Can you say, "HEMORRHAGED TO DEATH"?
I am in stunned amazement that a VET would advocted breeding a 3# Yorkie, period! Going one step further, I am in stunned amazement he does not know that it is genetics that determine how big the babies will be, NOT STRICTLY the size of the sire!!!!! One expects to hear this coming from people that do not know about breeding and genetics....I thought vets KNEW about these things!!!!!!...........I am sorry....I will take my soap box and go looking for something else to get into!

NO THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SOAP BOX, we appreciate everything that we hear on hear it's our first time of ever having Yorkies and we don't want to do anything that will hurt our Princess Prissy, she is my dream come true.

We got Geno neutered around 7 1/2-8 months and he doesn't try to hump as much so a lot less of telling him "NO", which is a plus. As for his personality, pretty much stayed the same. He did start marking and lifting his leg to pee after the neuturing but not too sure if that would be related to it - probably just him being a stubborn baby to getting potty train, which he was always like before the neutering, and might have just picked up lifting the leg to pee from other dogs he's been around.

You know I always hear that getting fixed will calm them down but with my yorkie, I think it just made him more hyper haha

Thanks for the info, we are so scared to have it done to either of them, but know it has to be. I think Bentley will go first after his 5 month birthday on June 9 and Prissy after her first heat, some say that's best for the female.

Ah what a brave boy. I remember after I brought Charlie home how out of it he seemed and you could tell in pain. Breaks your heart doesn't it. He looks like he is doing pretty good as far as the pictures show though. He'll be running around again in no time.

I'm so happy that Brody's big day is over and that he is doing well.

Sophia is a good sister to take care of her little brother. I had a feeling she would understand that he needed lovin' and wouldn't be up to playing.
