My Micro Teacup Pocket Yorkie (EllieMae) "Rescue"

The one where she looks bad is when I rescued her. She is 8 months old and weighs a pound. She is my spoiled little princess.

She looks like a little stuffed animal....so is so adorable!!!

Wow that is so tiny? What happened to her before you rescued her? Her eyes look a bit off colored? or is that just me?

Has she been checked for hydrocepalus? Her eyes look as though she could have a little problem with it. The reason I am familiar is that I have fostered two tinies with the problem. Any unusual circling or holding her head to the sides.

Wow, she's not looking too good in that 1st pic but the 2nd, she is a beauty queen. What a blessing you have been for her.

Trash Barrels in the center of the kennel. He proceeded to take me to the very back where, now named Ellie Mae, was caged. Her head was all matted and her body was shaved. She was on an extremely high dose of steroids, she was disgusting. Force feeding her baby food from a syringe. She was miserable completely skin and bones and she could not walk. I took her. When I got to work with the babies (Max and Ellie Mae) he kept emailing me, make sure she has a heating pad, and make sure she gets syrup and lots of love.
I cleaned up her head when I got home, I took her off the syringe and she ate perfectly fine and the very next day I took her to the Golden Triangle Animal Hospital because she could not breathe and had a horrible cough. I asked Jeff for all her records so that my vet and I knew where they left off and he told me there are none. He told me they had all their shots yet there is no record of this. When I took Ellie Mae to my Vet. He researched the website of the breeder and thought it was very suspicious. He called the vet that was listed on the steroid bottle and he asked what tests and procedures were done, they did not do anything for her but diagnose her with water on the brain and gave her a ridiculous dose of prednisone. Ellie Mae and came back positive for Giardia, she had Pneumonia, and she was malnourished. Ellie Mae was not dropped on her head and Max was not suffocated, they both were diagnosed with Hydrocephalus. This is known as water on the brain that can cause issues with their brain receptors causing blindness (Max), walking in circles (Max), seizures (Max), coma, death, and a paralyzing state (Ellie Mae). My Vet prescribed Prilosec, antibiotics (Clovomax) and also medicine for the Giardia and AD soft dog food. After two days of being on the meds Ellie Mae began walking, however, on February 17th still could not breathe so I took her to the emergency animal hospital in Benbrook. The advised me that the steroid Ellie Mae was on was horrendous dose for her size (Jeff had her on it)and she needed to be weaned from it. He also prescribed her another antibiotic and a nebulizer prescription. Now this baby girl is running around, playing and happy. If anyone else took her they would have put her to sleep. This is how bad the state she was that she was in. It is now April 27, 2012, her fur is growing in fully, with dandruff like cradle cap because she had almost no fur before. Unfortunately Max took a turn for the worst within one night. He lost his hearing and sight completely and quickly had tumors on his neck. He passed away last night. I am so angry and I am sooooo worried about Ellie.

Thank you all for your sweet kind words. GeorgiesMomma Thank you for reposting what had happened to her. Unfortunatly we could not save her brother who was a teacup :( he passed yesterday. Julia You got it exactly. She does have it and it was really bad when I got her, that is why she could not walk. I worry about her site a lot, I really worry about her in general, I'm already starting to cry typing this. She is my little angel and I feel so bad for what her and her brother went through. She is so spoiled, she walks with a hump right now but she has only been walking for 2 months so I am hoping that this will change as long as I continue her medicine. The prilosec works amazing (in dog form) It pulls the water away from thier brain. Ellie mae weighs one pound and she is 8 months old now. I heard they only live five years so I am hoping I can get more from her but will be greatful for the time I have with her. She is so precious. She sleeps in my arms at night while she chews on my fingers lol and she goes everywhere with me as long as it is not a place with food. I am so blessed to have her. I have been looking for 2 months for a forum to join to help me learn about her. I rescue all different animals but she is by far the worst off and most delicate baby I have ever had and I want to do right by her. I came across this forum because I am so angry with Jeff Dane for what he has done to these babies and could not believe I found you all. I believe I will learn so much from you and I really could use it and the healing right now. Ive posted another picture of Ellie to show her true size and a picture of Max :)

I can tell you Jeff Dane's place is a dirty, filthy trashy place. He has had many, many complaints made against him and has been taken court and he is still allowed to do what he does. People have been trying to have him shut down for years and yet he is still there. Makes me so very, very mad.

Looking at that 1st picture, hard to believe the tiny thing was still alive...what a little fighter. The change in her is so amazing with your love and devotion to her well being. She's a miracle for sure.

I'm so glad she is now safe with you. You have done a great job rescuing her and trying to save her brother. You can see how she has really blossomed. I hope that person that did this to her and other dogs gets what he deserves.

My yorkie, Sparrow, is a rescue too. She couldn't be used for breeding due to her being too small and she has luxating patellas. Her breeder gave her to the rescue I got her from when she turned 1 year old. She'll be 2 in June.

I just finished reading your other thread & OMG those poor babies. I am sorry you lost her brother but so happy you saved her. Does EllieMae have Chiari ? I ask because that's usually what the Omeprizole is used for as it slows the Production of spinal fluid, giving more time for it to leave the brain since it moves through slower due to the deformity at the base of the skull.

You all are so amazing and I am so happy I have found others who share my love for these little ones and the anger towards this man. I don\'t feel alone but I feel so helpless.
TXVicki It is disgusting and filthy. When I went to the shed he converted, to see Ellie I could not breathe when I went in there. He has wired crates lined on all walls and up to the ceiling. He has four and five puppies in one crate that are absolutely filthy. Ellie was all the way in the back and filthy is not the word I can describe for her. he kept telling me, make sure she has a puppy heating pad all the time. My dad said she wanted to die that is why she was being force fed baby food from a syringe. When I got her home she actually scared my father because she was so scary looking. he said she looked like a baby bird. Um she hasn\'t been on a heating pad in 2 months. She is always in our arms, in our bed sleeping or on her princess pillow bed with a blanket plus her fur is coming in so she is never cold lol. He owns this huge ranch with two entry gates, a pond, 4 camels and other live stock. So he has a lot of money to keep himself out of trouble but he doesn\'t take care of his babies. lillymae I never heard of Chiari I will ask the vet.

Honestly it angers me that nothing can be done to stop him, I reported him to the Human Society and she told me that it is not illegal in the State of Texas to run a puppy Mill as long as they are getting shelter food and water. They can only to take action if the puppies are in bad health. I think Ellie shows the state that they are in. Micro teacup yorkies are made is by breeding runts together that is why they don\'t live so long.

qtyorkies isn\'t it sad that if they can\'t make the breeder money, they just send them off to a shelter or leave them to die? That angers me. Your baby is so blessed to find you.

She is safe now and gets 150% love from our whole family I am just so scared for her. When my life partner sent Jeff a message and told him she was walking all he said was, really?
