I've read the posts and I don't think that it's being done for the right reasons. There are so many 'non-traditional looking' Yorkies in shelters and being dumped that having more just isn't what it's cracked up to be. Plus, just because you think your baby is up to par, will you be able to get the pups registered? For this particular reason, there are not very many Yorkie breeders. You'll be able to find Yorkies everywhere, but do they come from reputable breeders? Probably not. You wouldn't want to be considered one of these people-- they are hated by most because they advertise these 'teacup' puppies, give false statements, and the pups don't come out like promised.
You shouldn't rely on just regular Yorkie owners to help you make this decision. This should really be a very researched topic and you should talk to other local, reputable breeders. I think it is totally selfish to take on this endeavor without the proper research. |
