Look for fabric remnants at your fabric store!! Often it's the last 1/4-1/2 a yard off the bolt and they mark them 1/2 price. I've got 1/2 yards of material for .50-1.00 and can make a dress and harness.

Or handkerchiefs. I love them for a western look and I get them 2 for .99 at my .99 cent store
