Mites, Mange and vacation.... Hey everyone.... Beaker ,family and I are still on vacation in new york visiting my hubbys parents.... love vacation, but who likes going on vacation when you spend time and money going to the vet... lets start with Trigger our boxer having an allergic reaction from my mother in law spraying febreze around him one day... that was not fun but then not even a week later another problem.... i was awoke one night by a little yelp.... thinking it was beaker i looked at him, nope he was asleep and well...so i lookied across the bed and realized it was trigger, but it was only one cry and nothing els, figured him being a bigger dog he was fine.... that morning trigger would not walk on his left front leg.... we gave it a couple hours to see if somthing would change...nope... another trip to the vets.. turned out it was not broken like we thought, but had maybe had some disk moved in his wrist....the vet gave him a shot and splint.... man let me tell you ny vets are way more expensive then fl..... not done yet, i remember writing on here about beaker having flakey skin one time about a month ago and i even brought him to the vet and she gave me a sample of medicated shampoo and said try this, she too had no idea what he had... well now its worse trigger has gotten it too...trigger has major patches of hair loss all of a sudden ... well i have done some research on the net... i thinks its mites... or mange... we bought a dip and i cant tell if its really working... can anyone give me advice... maybe some kind of home cure..... ive been to the vet recently a lot and it sucks....if there is something that i can do that wont cost as much as vet visit that would be awsome.... hope some one can help....beaker has had this skin every sence i bought him from that lady.. it just wasnt as bad in the begining it just looked like dandurf... i still think that women was running a puppy mill... beaker had and still has all the signs of a puppy mill puppy... my poor baby...
Skin is scaley, flaky, they scratch and bite themselves majorly, not so much trigger but beaker..... he smells... kinda like metal the kind of smell you get from blood.... i know that probably no matter what, im going to bring them both to our vet when we get home in another week.... but some advise for now while we are here would be great.... also i was getting itchy arms and little bumps that would bleed and then it went away,...i read that humans can get it, but it doesnt stay long....wish that were the same with the dogs...
