| Snow day in Alabama We had almost a foot of snow Sunday night - in Alabama. The kids got out in it. Sadie loved it and Beemer hated it. This was backwards from what I was expecting. I put a snowsuit on him and he wouldn't move at all. Since we weren't going to be out but a few minutes I just took it off. He was quite happy to be just carried around. I will give him that the snow was over his head though. Here are a few pictures. Sadie went back out later but we just carried Beemer around.

| How adorable! I'm so jealous. We didn't get anything in Louisiana.

| Poor Beemer had to wear Sadie's purple parka. I have a snowsuit that looks boyish but he wanted no part of it. I haven't gotten him a parka yet. We are in Alabama after all! He's got so much hair and is naturally warmer than Sadie so I hadn't worried about getting him one till I'm sure he's done growing. I just got Sadie's last year when I took her to Canada for Christmas.

| At least you were prepared with winter wear for them! I have sweaters here for my crew but no coats. I think if we get snow, they will have to use their pads inside. I heard there was some sleet here Sunday while I was fighting the sleet/ice storm up in MS. Everyone down this way was talking about it even though it melted as soon as it hit the ground and did not come down long. We did get a little sprinkling of snow one year when my youngest was a baby. He was standing in his crib, pointing out the window and said "Mess!" I guess he thought someone had spilled a lot of white stuff and were going to be in big trouble! Then he sort of looked quizzical and asked, "Soap?" We love remembering that day. I bundled him up and took him outside to touch snow for the first time -- he did not like it one bit! Kept acting like it was hurting him to even touch it for a second. It quickly melted and he didn't have to deal with it again. I guess he still agrees with Beemer and hates cold weather along with snow. He visited Washington DC for the last inauguration and asked me on the phone, "How do people live like this?" When we got him back up to school Sunday night, he told me he hadn't realized it would get that cold in MS. "Isn't this still the south?" he asked me. Still that little boy that does not like cold stuff. I grew up in Indiana and Illinois -- so it was all funny to me but I have quickly adapted to be a southern girl and don't want any part of ice, snow, or sleet either.
