Yorkie Talker | I am Spike and I am new to the site! Hi I am Melissa and I am a proud new owner of a Yorkshire Terrier named Spike. Nickname is Booger. I decided to become a member because any question I googled about Yorkshires brought me here. I am thinking of letting his hair grow all yr then cutting it next summer. For the shave I am thinking of doing it like a lion but only leaving some long hair on top of head and like a foomanchew or goatee. Any ideas on how it will look? |

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Welcome to YT, Melissa and Spike! There are lots of good answers in the archives here and a bunch of smart people who know everything about Yorkies. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them when it comes to advice on lion cuts. I can't even find any good examples. I'm sure someone can hook you up.

| Welcome to YorkieTalk I let my two's hair grow all year long usually and just trim their ears when they get too long. I enjoy having them in summer cuts for their comfort because of the temps here. I would just search the pictures forum for ideas on different cuts. Good luck!

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk! Sorry no advice for a lion cut. Rosie has long hair all year long. I just can't cut it because I love how soft and pretty it is. I am sure someone here will be able to help you out. They are wonderful and very knowledgeable. |

| Welcome Melissa and Spike! I wish I had some advice on haircuts - but I'm only familiar with a few and my girl is still a puppy. You'll have to post pictures after she's been to the groomers.

| Welcome Melissa and Spike. I keep my guys hair shorter in the summer and let them all grow in a bit over the winter. This is my Spike, he is 9 years old:

Yorkie Talker | lol you have a Spike too I was thinking if I cut his hair at all it will eaither be to make sure he isn't a dustmop and it is dragging the floor or it will be the puppy cuts in summer then long for winter. Would love to do short puppy cut on head and keep leaving a Mohawk of long hair he looks so cute will post some hawk pics of him in his album should anyone wanna see them |
