| welcome welcome. i don't know of any threads, but introducing them is best done first on neutral territory where neither dog feels like they "own" the space. allow them to play and watch. most dogs will work it out on their own. avoid clothing because it covers up body signals. see how it goes on neutral ground and then try it in your home a few times before making the final choice to bring the new one into the home forever. always make sure you can bring the pup/dog back to the breeder/rescue group if they can't get along. all reputable breeders will gladly take the pup back and refund for you. good luck and show us pics of the new one. any questions we are here to answer so ask away, nothing is too weird or a stupid question we've all been there and had the same questions at one time. welcome to YT. |

| Hi Lucy, Welcome to YT! I have 4 yorkies, my oldest is 13 yrs old name Buffy then there is Duncan 4, Keanu 3 and Bear 3. I never gave it a thought about how to introduce a new member, I have just brought in the new pup and put everyone in the yard to smell each other with some toys and treats. It does not take long for all to start running more like a show off of who can run the fastest...lol Oh except my girl she's too old to run like that, unless she hears the car keys and shes in another room then she will push the boys out of the way... Good Luck!
