| Turned my deck into a huge "playpen" Last year in July when I brought my baby home, I turned my deck which is about 20' long into a huge playpen! |

| That is so cool! I am trying to convince hubby to do this. We have a sunroom and he says that that is enough but I would lilke for them to be to enjoy the full length of the back of the house without being on a leash, especially when we are on the deck. We tried to have them off leash and they listen pretty well although little Miss Maggie May has had daddy chasing after her. One day she ran him all over the yard and then ran into the neighbors house as someone came out of the kitchen slider. lol I wasn't home for that one, lol.

| That looks great!!! We did the same thing out on our deck. My dh put up some black wire around the wood. You can't even tell it is there. Now they can run and play!! So much nicer for them!!!

| What a great space and idea. Lot's of room to run around. I can't wait to be able to open up my deck. It's the only outdoor free space he has but most of the time his head is in the house looking for me to come with him. |

| hahahaha I love it! I turned mine into a playpen too. We hung screening on the rails and hammed boards across the bottom, then my dad screwed plexiglass at the bottom of the gate door so they could not squeeze under the gate. Now they can go in & out of the screen door onto the deck whenever they want (in the summer when it's warm of course)

| I love the pictures, especially the last one where he is smiling. We have so much pollen, so many bees and a few hawks, so we're staying off the deck until we get a gazebo with a mosquito net.

| That is a great idea! I would really love something similar to that, but we'd have to enclose the top area due to the hawks . . .DH had considered some ideas for an area of our backyard, but I'm pretty sure the "kids" would think they were being locked in somewhere and wouldn't want to stay inside the confine.

| thanks everyone. the deck is huge with some seats & flower boxes at the other end. it isn't actually set up yet with the outside furniture, still some of last years junk sitting around. yes it is lattice, & with it fenced in like this I can sit and relax once in awhile instead of worrying about where he is or what he's eating. I still take him down on the grass to potty & play also. we also put up an awning on the far end for shade. here is another view |

| That looks great! I wish I had a deck. But my Holly has all the back yard to her self.

| What a great idea! We have to put up a new fence now that Trixie is with us since...our fence is an old wooden one, but it is damaged at the bottom in one or two places....and of course, she can fit through. Right now, when she is out...we are out. Love your deck!

| We did something similar with our two-level deck, and the only concern now is watching out for hawks. We can't let our boys run around on the grass because of all the ticks, unfortunately. I won't put flea and tick chemicals on them, so keeping them on the deck is a good solution.
