| Does anyone have one like this? Prestons hair is SO THICK... I mean really thick and for awhile I didnt think the top of his head was going to change much because he is about 7 months old but... lately its been lightening up. I just don't know... Does any one have a yorkie like mine? I do know its a cotton coat and that they don't always get the correct coloring. Just curious on other peoples thoughts. Also I need to trim his ears. Any tips on that would be great. The last pic of him in the shirt was a month or 2ish ago...just wanted to see if everyone else could tell a difference.

My little Shadow Donating YT Member | I think Preston is just Adorable! Many yorkies hair color changes alot....some have posted changes even til 2 yrs of age. You can find lots of great advice under Forums in the Grooming Section. You can find info about tipping the ears.

| preston is so cute! hello- just had a look at Preston- he is very cute! He has a lovely coat. The colouring on all yokies seems to vary quite a bit. I have a 12 week old yorkie girl who has white patches on her paws and chin! She has very very thick hair which resembles wool rather than fur . Our older yorkie is 3 1/2 years old and she is a blue/tan colouration but she has still kept her black puppy colouring on her tail area- so I think variations occur quite often - which makes each one unique. Grooming is best done by a professional unless you are confident to do it yourself.it is fairly easy to clip ears yourself as long as your dog is calm and used to you brushing him , if not leave it to the professionals. |

| Preston is sooo cute, what a doll, I can't help with the coat issue, my Bailey is 7 months old and the opposite, he has a thin coat. I think the fluff balls with the cotton coats are adorable!

| Oliver is 2.5 yrs and has REALLY silver/blued up in the past 3-4 months.... he is a light tan in his "tan" areas. He has a small white chest patch still. One of my past guys was blk/tan until he passed at 17. He had a curly-ish coat that was quite silky feeling but thick (he also had the little white chest patch) I think your little pup is REALLY cute BTW! |

| My Chipper had a thick cottony coat for all of his 13 years. I always kept him in the puppy cut and he looked like a puppy till the day he crossed over the rainbow bridge. My groomer had never seen a Yorkie with such a thick coat. I never had to put coats and sweaters on Chipper since his natural coat always kept him warm even in the cold New England winters.

| Preston reminds me a lot of my Sofie. She also has very thick hair. Although, the longer her hair gets the less thick it appears. She is 11 months old & her coloring is also very dark. Preston is a cutie!

| Preston is a cutie!!!! I'm also waiting to see if Sophie's coloring changes. So far, not much, but you never know!!! Good luck with the ear clipping. At first Sophie didn't like it, but now tolerates it just fine! |

| Preston is sucha cutie! His coloring reminds me of Momo, he's blk & tan & has a very thick cottony fur. As for ear tipping, I got a Wahl pocket pro trimmer. Just clip the hairs on the flat part of the ears (inside & out), 1/3rd. Do not use clippers on the edge of the ears, it can cause serious injury. For the edge of the ears, I use a small blunt nosed scissor & just trim off the hairs (also 1/3rd) on the edge to a triangle tip point.
