| Autumn is back Those of you who followed my long detail on Autumn, I have more to add: She has been wonderful for the last 5 weeks. Have her on the organic pumpkin along with the DDS plus pro-biotic. Have her on the Purina NF. UNTIL Yesterday, when she started to vomit again and poop blood. HORRIBLE......... I called my vet's office today and explained to them what was happening; She's only 4.8 lbs so my concern also was how little she is. They would not squeeze me in, said it's not that serious unless the blood is black. So they made an appt for 6.5 hrs later. To ALL of your recommendations from the last series of problems I had with her, you all suggested find a new vet. SO, I hung up and immediately called the other vet in town (I know they are much more expensive), but at this point I just didn't care. I just got laid off ten days ago, which is not a good thing and I knew money was tight, but this was something I just had to do. They examined her and talked to me for over an hour. Temp 103.6; The fecal test was done and they also tested for Giardia which came back negative. The bottom line is she again has a serious intestinal infection; still most probable that she does indeed have food allergies and possibly irritable bowel. They put her on a new drug (twice daily) and she is restricted to eating a special food. Venison and potato. The drugs really haven't kicked in yet as tonite she is very lethargic. My poor little darlin. To top things off, she has two baby teeth that the big teeth did not push out and she will eventually need to have those extracted. She's gone thru so much already within her short life. I pray she gets better. |
