| ![]() Here's a thread about Red-legged Yorkies. They have slower growing coats. I don't know if your baby is a Redlegged or not,its hard to tell from the picture, but I just did a quick search on here to try to get you some info and you can determine yourself if she is ![]() ![]() http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...ed-yorkie.html

| ![]() Looks like a Yorkie to me, too. Adore you little Pommie. I have two.....one white rescue and our daughter's red rescue. They're larger than your tiny one, though. About the car sickness......have you thought about getting a raised doggie car seat? Snowboy gets carsick if I don't limit what he eats, give him Bonine and put him in his car seat. Bonine is an OTC travel sickness drug that you can pick up at Wal-Mart or Walgreens.

| ![]() Darling YORKIE! She may have cotton hair and that could be the reason her hair is not growing too much on top. Just a guess. Pom is a doll baby too

| ![]() Your post came to the top of my "new posts" list again and I thought of something else you might get a kick out of. When I still had Sadie, she and Ben were polar opposites. She was much larger than him, longer in the leg, and I kept her coat short because it was thick and Florida is hot. Ben has a floor length, thin, silky, coat and shorter legs. His ears are a little on the large side and when he needs a grooming the longer hair on them really make them look big. I had two different people question that they could both be the same breed. I had to admit it was pretty funny that they looked so different yet still both met the basic standard for being a Yorkshire Terrier. Yorkies just have a lot of looks!

| ![]() She may have this type of coat, as explained by Joan B. Gordon. In her book, "The Complete Yorkshire Guide". I use this book as my coat Bible ![]() Is her coat a little harsh, feeling like wire? She looks like she may. It is explained this way in the book: A puppy that has a wiry coat texture, with a tan that is a very bright red gold by four to five months, will as an adult do one of two things: First, if the puppy as it approaches five or six months, or at least by nine months, shows the transition from black to blue, the coat texture will soften to a silky texture. If the black coat does not show this transition to blue, the adult dog will retain the wiry coat which will never attain any great length. Last edited by Amazing Yorkies; 08-06-2009 at 07:01 PM. |
