| My new yorkie! ..or is it? Hi, I just bought a Yorkshire Terrier a few days ago, he's 4 months old and his name is Spunky! He's very cute and fun, but the thing I noticed is that he doesn't look like other yorkies. He's kinda bigger, and his muzzle is more prominent than other yorkies. Also, his ears are still not erect Someone mentioned he may be a Sily terrier, or just a mixed yorkie. I don't know what to think really. Anyway, he also has a weird dandruff since yesterday, which at first I thought might have something to do with new hair growing? |

| No papers, a vet was selling them. Said the mommy and daddy had papers but they didn't bother registering these puppies |

| Welcome Mary and Spunky! Hi Mary! Spunky sure is a cutie! I really can't make out his ears from the pic, but I've heard just a little bit of clipping will help take the weight off enough for them to stand up. Just wondering how much does Spunky weigh?

Great! Be sure to let us know what the new vet has to say. I looked in to Silky Terriers before finding Carlee (I'd never even heard of them before) and was surprised at how very similar they are to the Yorkie. In fact, the site I'd checked out said they were considered "kissing cousins" and that the Silky's just get a little bigger than the average Yorkie. Have fun with your new baby!

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Five pounds at four months isn't huge for a Yorkie by any means. Try clipping some of the hair around the ears and see if the less weight helps them stand up. Others have suggested taping them, but I'm not sure how that works. If he's not 100 percent Yorkie, he's darn close. Lots of Yorkies have longer snouts. He's very cute.

| Aaaw! Spunky looks like a Yorkie to me too. And he has the green eye glow ~ that's supposed to mean his coat will be a silky texture & a little easier to take care of. Some agree with this, some don't. Mine are pups & don't have the glow color yet.
