Carter & Cooper ready to go for hurricane evacuation! 4 Attachment(s) This is a photo of my babies before we leave tonight for hurricane evacuation. One of the New Orleans TV stations is anticipating a direct hit on Terrebonne Parish (my hometown area) about 20 miles from where I live. We'll leave home around midnight or so. The boys have both had a bath. Just wish we could keep Cooper's face dry and Carters spikes of hair under control. Can't wait for those whisps of hair to finish growing out!! :) Lisa |
How far do you have to travel to get to a safer place? My thoughts and *prayers* are with you guys, and everyone in Katrina's path. |
Oh my have they changed, they get more handsome in every pic you post. Wow! :) Just want to say hope you are safe. |
Under usual driving conditions, about 4 1/2 hours in travel time is where we're going. We are going to the northern edge of Louisiana in the center of I-20. My sister left at 4 PM this afternoon and she hasn't met up with much traffic. She has been lucky. She still isn't in Ruston yet though but has met up with lots of people from our hometown at various stops along the way. |

Carter's silver hair on his head has changed to a blonde/tanish color. Both of them are still really small. I didn't realize how small they were until I babysat Sebastian before I took him to my daughter's house in NC. I really LOVE my two babies as well as all my skin children and their families! :) Lisa Thanks to all for the safe blessings. |
Please be safe! I will be thinking of you! Carter and Cooper will be good companions ;) they look great! |
Be safe...We are thinking about you guys!! Lots of love Fran and Sammi |

Thanks ya'll *in my best cajun accent that I don't have to fake* |
They all look great! Please be safe and drive carefully! :) |
They look so cute!!!! Please be safe!!!!! Will be thinking of you and everyone else in its path!!!!!!!! |
Yes, please be careful. I have a fear of hurricanes cuz I lived through one and I will take earthquake tremors anyday. :( |
I lived through Betsy in Houma, where the eye passed directly over us. I lived through Juan. I lived through Camille in New Orleans. I've lived through many others. After Juan, I promised I would never stay for another and I haven't. Our coastline has changed and we cannot handle storms as we did in the past. Our barrier islands are almost non-existent. Hopefully Congress will continue to help Louisiana's withering coastline as it does serve a valuable purpose -- especially in the oil and gas industry (most especially because of our dependence of foreign oil). |
best wishes to you and your family. Your dogs are beautiful! |
Thanks all! I'm getting ready to pull the plug on my computer and load it into the Yukon. I have Internet access from the hotel room so I'll be on intermittently after we reach our destination. Night time driving is SOOOO much better than daytime log jams! :) |
Just keep safe and good luck! :) |
be careful...hope all is well!! my gosh your babies have grown into beauties!! they both look like their smiling..."road trip" |
Your babies are just gorgeous - hope your trip north is uneventful and all of you are safe. how in the world does anyone get their babies to be still long enough to get such great pictures? I am in north ms so if you need something let me know. It's further that you would want to come but never the less I'm here. harley's mom |

Oh, they are precious. Take care. I know it's scary, but leaving is the best option. Don't wait too long! We have hurricanes here too and it's such a frenzy that last day before they come in. Best of luck and let us know when you are back home safe. |
Best of luck to you. I have been watching the weather channel all morning...how frightening! I am so glad that you have gotten out. Very wise. There are still folks walking around on the beach this morning!!! I know it is not coming until later, but I would be outta there! I am happy that your babies and your family are safe.
