Your babies are adorable!! Be safe and drive carefully! Take care. |
We are safe and in Ruston, Louisiana now. Don't know how long we'll have Internet service in the room. Its been in and out. We're out the weather for now and if we get anything it will be hardly anything. I have reservations until Sept 5th in the event we cannot return home due to damage, no electricity or flooding. I'll check in as I can. Hope everyone else is safe, especially my family that didn't evacuate and are in the direct path as well as members that are in the path to the east of New Orleans. Lisa |
Glad you got there safe and sound. I will say a prayer for your family and friends. Your babies are so handsome!!! Good luck. Joy |
glad you made it safe and sound with your furbabies. I will pray for your family staying behind. I pray that this hurricane is not as bad as they predict. |
Your babies are very nice indeed. Please stay safe. You were wise to leave as you did. People are pretty much stuck there if they didn't plan like you did. I hate this happening to you and all the anxiety of being away and not knowing about your home. But at least you are safe and that is the most important thing. I was in Kendall/Cutler Ridge when Hurricane Andrew hit and it is quite scary. So, just to let you know you and your family are in my thoughts. Take care, |
Your babies are gorgeous! I hope you stay safe! |
May you all be safe, and when its over, I hope you have no damage. Its scary..I have never seen a hurricane and I hope I never will. |
your babys are adorable, glad you are safe,my prayers are with you and your family. |
I've been listening and watching Fox news all morning, so it looks like you'll be okay. It wasn't as bad as they thought, thank GOD! I hope you and your family, furry and non-furry, and your home are okay. I am praying for all of the pets left behind, and all of the people. |
Thanks everyone. One sister in Houma doesn't have any damage and her electricity was restored around 7 PM. Another sister that is here with me has about a 3 foot section of shingles missing from her roof and her electricity is on. Our electricity is still off and we don't have damage (according to the eyes of a 15 yr old neighbor) with the exception of our gate not being able to close on our fence. We dodged a bullet!!!! New Orleans is as lucky. Lisa |
Hey Lisa, it's so good to hear from you! I've been watching all the coverage. I'm so glad you came through the storm OK. The pix of your babies look so sweet. They look like they were ready for an adventure!! |
Lisa, Im so glad that you guys are safe and I hope your home didn't suffer much damage. The pics of your boys are beautiful like always. They are so cute and adorable. |
Glad you're safe and your home survived. Thanks for keeping us informed. |

Glad you're safe and your home survived. Thanks for keeping us informed. Edit: I must be REALLY glad for you. I seem to have posted twice. Sorry. |
Still no electricity this morning but we'll still travel there anyway. If I must, I can stay at my mom's or sister's homes. Crossing my fingers there will be electricity by the time we arrive. What is devastating is waking up to see that water from Lake Ponchartrain bridged the 17th Street Canal levees and is pouring into New Orleans. Absolutely awful. Have ya'll seen the photos of the Hyatt Regency Hotel with all the windows blown out? That hotel is adjacent to the Superdome. Lisa |
Hurricane I do hope you and your babies are all well after that awful hurricane. My prayers are with you! |
Lisa, I am thinking of you and your family today. Glad to hear you are all safe and sound. Sending you all my hugs and prayers. |
Glad to see you and your family are safe. Still in our prayers. |

Glad to hear you and your family are safe. The stories about New Orleans, however, are not so good. I continue to pray for all of the people and their pets. |
Hope you & your family (2 & 4 legged) are ok. Looks like things aren't getting much better down there. Praying for you all. |
Hey everyone! We did arrive home to Thibodaux yesterday afternoon without much traffic difficulties. We do not have any electricity, phone, cellphone or cable service. I'm at my sister's house in Houma right now for the day while my husband is down the bayou bringing his mother home to her house that doesn't have electricity. She's elderly and insisted on going home. There is no word on how long we'll be out of electricity. Between Thibodaux and Houma, there were many electric poles snapped in half. I know in the front of our neighborhood a transformer blew out. We have our generator to keep our refrigerator and freezer cold and have one fan running. We're able to cook when needed but we need to get more food. No stores are open in our town, no gas, no anything. The news from New Orleans is absolutely awful. The failed attempt at repairing the breach in the 17th St Canal levee is devastating. There is upwards of 8-11 feet of water enterring the city. The Superdome is being evacuated =-= people are being brought to Houston. Lisa |
Lisa, I am so glad you got the chance to post to let us all know you are safe and doing well. I am keeping you and all those effected by the storm in my prayers. |

Thanks Jennette! It is good to be home even without electricity. However, ask me about that in a few weeks if I still don't have electricity. Lisa |
Lisa, Is there ANYTHING that I can do for you. If not now, in the weeks ahead?? Please, just let me know. I can imagine they will be bringing in only the bare necessities at first, (premium doggie food etc. will probably be way low on the official priority list!) and I know it will be quite awhile before we can send you things, but when the time comes don't hessitate to ask... I feel so helpless and worried for every one. |
Thanks so much for asking! My last purchase of Innova was a 33# bag so I'm good for a long time. The boys don't understand why they look so ragged . . . lol. The humidity is not nice to their appearance (neither mine) lol. I think we'll be alright. Its just harsh reality that things are nowhere near normal. Just found out that there is going to be a refugee camp set up at our university in Thibodaux (Nicholls State) for some of the people that are currently in the Superdome. Also 9 busses from Terrebonne Parish have been sent to the Superdome to get loads of refugees to bring to our Civic Center shelter and other shelters. These people are coming with literally the clothes on their back. We have a few bags of clothes that don't fit my daughter that we'll be bringing to donate to the refugees. I'll be going through my closet as well. I just can't imagine!!! Lisa |
I feel so sorry and helpless. Wish there was more I could do, but I will continue praying. Keep your chin up and your good attitude. God be with you. |
Your in my heart and prayers, if there is anything at all we can do just ask!(besides prayers) If you want to get away I have a 5th wheel in Michigan that could be your vacation home for a while! |
