| Thanksgiving Weekend Share your Thanksgiving photos here! I don't know how to make turkey--so we are going to have that later this week, since my mom will be home tomorrow...but I did make the furbutts a steak feast! Here's Izze on thanksgiving day (with her pink sweater and M'Lady bow): and Saturday we got our bows from Darlin and here she is this morning, after coming in from our first snowfall (she hates snow!):

| Chrissy, turkeys are easy to make, but, I'll tell you what, when you just have a few people, pick you up a small fresh turkey breast at the store. Wash it with cold water and pat dry. Then oil it down good on the outside and inside, then salt and pepper the inside and outside. put a small rack in a pan, add a couple cans of chicken broth and maybe 2 cups of water to the pan, cook uncovererd on 425 about 1/2 hour, then cover it with aluminum foil, turn the heat to 325 and finish cooking until done. Some of the turkeys have a pop up, but, if not, use a meat thermometer in the thickest part of the breast without touching the bone. We usually cook our turkey to 175, although, they now say not to go over 165. Then take it out and let it cool about 1/2 hour before slicing. |
