| A Day at the Dog expo So funny how my "social life" has changed since Maya. First all ,before her, I didn't have one . Now I look for anything and everything we can do together. My next door neighbors are real big in the Keeshond rescue society and they informed me that there was a dog expo in Memphis yesterday. I've been looking forward to this for weeks now, and sent Maya to the hair dresser yesterday to get all pretty. I couldn't even sleep the whole night, and got up to do my walking and get her ready. I put on her little pink t-shirt and ribbon and off we went. This was my first one, but I could tell that what my neigbhor said was true, the economy has hit everything Most of the Florida and Texas vendors passed this year, and in an effort to make it look bigger they just spread a few out in a very large space. There were only two booths that sold pretty dog clothes. I looked at this one dress that was TO DIE FOR!!!!!!!!!! but it cost $149.99. The lady went on to explain that it was by some designer (name eludes me). I just can't spend that on a dress for a dog, but it was a knock out I tell you. I told everyone I met with a yorkie to come to yorkie talk.com (none of them had heard about it). I hope they do it. The lady with the expensive dress, had a yorkie to die for and so did her friend. Here are the pictures. On the three picture, that's Maya in the middle. These were some nice folks, and I told her she could probably sell her custom bows and dresses here well. The other exciting thing that happened is someone had this huge great Dane. Of course Maya was not intimidated at all and went nose to nose with it. This professional photographer who had a booth nearby saw it and asked me and the lady for our information He wants them in the studio to recreate the moment and put it in his next book. How exciting....Maya the professional model. We only sign autographs on Wednesday

| Now you know if it happens they are going to be on here. It may just be a scheme to get us in the studio, but I'm a game sucker, if he takes cute pictures of Maya, I'm buying them.

| You know I got to hold each one of those girls, and their hair just was not to be believed. It was like there was just layers and layers of this perfect straight hair and then somewhere under there was a body. The girls are half sisters and came from a breeder in Kentucky. I'm no expert, but they sure were some beautiful yorkies. By the way, this same lady had this crystal dog collar to die for and it was 100.00. I just can't afford that kind of stuff.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Ha ha. I'd do the same thing. I wondered if it was a scheme. A little shady if he tries to sell them to you after saying they were for a book, but hey, you could always say no if the price was too high. If not and you like the pics, what the heck.

| It's just like booths and booths of dog things, and dog rescue societies and your local human shelters, and obience trials, races, frisbee competions, just about everything a dog can get into. It was real fun. I'd give the beauty prize of the day to these two white standard matched poodles (boy and girl). They were so gorgeous it was unbelievable. Just a good chance to spend the day showing off your dog. So many people oohed and ahhed over Maya....what yorkie lover wouldn't enjoy this day.....and yes....I let people pick her up...that doesn't bother me. She slept good last night

| I think the best compliment I got all day was from someone who noticed that she doesn't meet a stranger. That person said "What a wonderful temperment she has!!!!"

My edit time elapsed....I asked for more... and someone asked "don't you spell check?" The spell check thing doesn't work on my computer for some reason....but spell check would not have caught this error anyway, because the word is spelled correctly. That is not HUMAN shelters, I meant to say, but your local HUMANE shelters. I didn't want you to think we were locking people up here in Memphis.
