What a wonderful and heartwarming thread this is!! :) Little Bug is a precious doll and you are an angel for saving her from her terrible past and showering with all the love and attention that you do. If only there were more of you in this world~ You will so love YT, there is such a wealth of information and such lovely yorkie owners here that feel about their furkids exactly how you do - as if they were their own children (aren't they?) I hope you continue to update us with more on "Princess" Bug and her progress soon. I for one would love to hear more soon! |
I think you bug is a little cutie pie :p ... |
I can't believe I didn't see this post ever before!!! My heart just goes out to your little baby! What, currently are you feeding exactly? And meds, supplements besides the prozyme? Have you tried Notatum at all, has that been mentioned? Or colostrum? My Marcel had serious digestive issues - and I finally (desperately) ran across a holistic animal nutritionist (Susan Blake Davis) who works at a California vet practice but does phone consults nationally. She is AMAZING. I would bet anything that she could work a miracle w/ your baby. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Her website is www.askariel.com. I paid $75 for an initial consult, follow-ups are $55 (I had one), she prescribed 2 supplements, a homecooked diet that I bought at the store (white fish based). Within 1.5 days after starting Marcel on her diet (with no meds, and no supplements yet), we had firm poos after 4 months of nothing but bloody/mushy/runny/mucousy poos. This, of course, was after I had spent hundreds of $$ at the vet, to no avail. I hope you get in touch w/ her bc I truly think she could help you!!! :D |
Welcome to YT. Your baby may not be show quality, but is still beautiful and precious. My daughter, who is now 31 years old, has had the nickname of Bug since she was born so I love your baby's name! :p Good luck in getting Bug healthy. I know alot of YTrs have info that will help you, unfortunatly I am clueless about this issue. |
Welcome to YT! Can't believe this thread is so long and I'm just now seeing it! How wonderful of you to provide a good and decent love filled home for your precious little Bug! What a beauty she is; she can't help but be one, she's yorkie!! Please keep us updated. |
i think bug is a little doll baby! i love my boy's thin hair, not like bug's, but much thinner it seems than most yorkies on here. i love seeing his little pink knees! :p she is beautiful in your eyes and especially in God's eyes. that is all that matters, eh?:) |

1 Attachment(s) Thank you all for the kind words and support. To update, Bug has been on Innova Evo, Prozyme, Omega X, and Nutracal supplement for about 3-4 weeks now. One thing I can say for sure is that her appetite is wayyyyyyy up. She actually begs by her empty bowl, which I have NEVER seen her do in 3 years of having her. Of course I give her more anytime she asks, but I can't leave a full bowl out all the time because Oliver (fat cat) LOVES her food and gobbles it up the second I turn my back. Instead, I give her about a tablespoon 5 times a day (she can't fit more than that in her tiny tummy at one sitting). She also feels heavier, and less fragile when I pick her up, but I don't have a scale to weigh her on. I'll find out what she weighs when I take her back for her checkup in mid-March. Her hair seems to be filling back in as well. It started looking really scraggly, so I took her to Nessie's groomer (my Westie girl) to see if she could do anything to "clean up" her style. She told me that I should go ahead and save myself the 30 bucks by cutting off the dead scraggly stuff on her head myself. There were a number of reasons she suggested that besides the money. She felt that Buggie was so terrified just by the groomer handling her that the "end product" wouldn't be worth putting her through the trauma. She said anything she did to her at that point would look like a "hack job," because her long scraggly stuff just had to come off one way or another. Once it grows back out, and there's enough of it to actually groom, she will let me assist to make the experience less frightening for her. So, I'm attaching a picture I snapped for you all this evening. It's not a very pretty picture because she hasn't had a bath since last Thursday. She looks even fluffier (a relative term, I know) right after a good bath, but I think you can already tell that despite her horrible hair cut, the hair on her head is filling in...or it could be wishful thinking:) |
Awww, precious girl! I think it is filling in, actually. She has very light colored hair, so she looks more bald than she really is. |
By the way, she was napping on the couch next to me with her "sister" Nessie when I took the pic...that's why one side of her face hair looks smooshed...she had been laying on it...it's not really cut THAT crooked..lol |
Buggie is so adorable!....I hope she's on the mend, I don't know if you've mentioned it, but have you tried omega 3 oils, I've heard it can do wonders........ Keep us posted on her, her story is so touching and we're all wishing her the best.....your doing such a wonderful job loving and caring for her...... |
Awww she is very lucky to have you! I think she is a little cutie pie! |

Hi BuggieMom and welcome to YT! :D I just saw this thread and I have to say you're a real angel with a heart of gold. Your little Bug is adorable:wub: and so are Ollie and Nessie. What a great fur family you have there.:p :welcome4: |
I just saw this thread and it brought tears to my eyes. What a shame that all those poor babies were forced to live in those conditions. You're an angel for giving that precious little "Bug" the love, care and security she deserves. You have a beautifu family and prayers are on their way for Bug. Hopefully she'll soon realize that she is finally safe and maybe with less stress, her hair might start to come back in. She has the sweetest little face ever:) . Welcome to YT! |
I think Bug is precious!!!!! She is not ugly, please dont use that word about her again. :) You are one great Mama!! Ollie is beautiful too!!!!! |
