| Anyone from Arkansas [FONT=Comic Sans MS] I just got my first lil yorkie baby and I was wondering if anyone lived in Arkansas. I was hoping to find her a playmate if they lived close by or just to find someone to talk to about yorkies. I have two other dogs but one is scared of her (he's a very skiddish) and the other is old and a grouch. |

| I can understand what you mean! I live in Indiana, unfortunatly! I need a playmate or two for my puppy, because even though I have two other dogs, one is a grouch and the other can't be trusted to play nice with the puppy. I really want the puppy to get used to other dogs. I try to take him to PetsMart and PetCo whenever I can. Goodluck! |

| I'm in south central Missouri Just saw your post and thought I'd say hi. I am in south central Missouri and have two new babies. We might be parting with the little boy, Elvis. Haven't decided yet though. They were born on Elvis' birthday 10 days ago so if we would part with him, he wouldn't be available for a couple of months. Also he is pureblood, but he wouldn't be registered. Both parents are registered. If you are close, I can send you some pics as soon as I get them developed. Have a couple of pics on the "My Yorkie" forum. Only polaroids so they aren't clear. |

| Not sure if I have. I remember looking online when we were looking for another baby before we got Waya last year and I seem to remember a breeder from there. I do know that the lady that our Waya came from is near Dallas and is very reasonable. We bought him second hand. The girl that had him apparently decided she couldn't make enough money raising yorkies so she had him for sale. We bought him for $1500 and after we had him (and fought ringworm which he had before and for which was never medicated right) I called the lady in Dallas. She was very nice, but will talk your head off. LOLL She raises smaller yorkies (Waya is a small boy) and I found out that she sold Waya to the girl for $750. She was a little upset that she (the girl) sold him and said we got screwed with the price, but little Waya is worth every penny. We got Chuhga from kingdom pups just east of Kansas City and she was reasonable also. |

| That is very reasonable. Chuhga was $500. I will do some checking and see if I can turn up anything for you. Will let you know. I do know that there are some bad puppy mills out there. We have one not far from us. He raises cockers (for one) and one boy got out and was leaving town. He came to us and we kept him in our yard. The guy had came by a couple of days earlier looking for him. Stupid us thought he had lost a pet. Hubby went over to his house to tell him that the cocker was at our house. When he came, we knew right away that it was a puppy mill owner. The cocker did not even have a name - just a number. |

| That is sad. I hate people like that. Well I found this lady in Oklahoma that seems really nice. We have been e-mailing. She is going to have some unreg. puppies next month and they are $250 and I was going to get one. I dont care if they are reg. I just want one. Anyway she is going to send pictures of the puppies every week to me to show me how they are doing. Sounds good I think.

| That does sound pretty good and the price is very good, even for a non-registered baby. We are going to have one more litter out of Chuhga and then spay her. Lisa Marie (the baby) will be spayed soon as she is supposed to be. Good luck with your new baby. Don't forget to post some pics. |

| We have decided to keep both Elvis & Lisa Marie, but if we have another litter we will try to keep the price low so that more people can have a yorkie to love, but not so low that they will re-sell them. THat is the reason we won't give the papers with the babies. We were thinking of between $300-400. This was Chuhga's first litter so we haven't sold any yet. LOLL I hope we can sell the next ones. They sorta grow on you. |

| I know they are so cute. I am trying to figure out which is the best way to potty train a puppy. Should I just use the puppy pads forever, or try to go outside? I am trying to get as much info before the puppy arrives.

| Well, we used the pads at first and then outside. Chuhga is very good and Waya is too except now that he is a macho dad, he will try mark inside. We have our oldest daughter's older (13 years) chihuahua and we have to watch her all the time. She was never taught to tell when she needed to go outside, but if we are in the carpeted living room (where she stays mostly) now she will go look at the door when she needs to go outside. If we aren't in there, then whoo hoo it's potty time. We live in the country and have two fenced in yards. The big outside dogs have a huge yard at the side of the house with their own insulated house that has a heat lamp for them with a porch that is enclosed in winter (LOL it looks like a storage barn - that big) and we made another fenced in yard as OUR back yard. This is the one that the yorkies go out in. They love the outside. Waya is a terror on the cats. He will chase them if they run. They usually don't run and he jumps all over them to get them to "GO". He thinks he is a big dog. You just have to be very vigilant when they are little. As soon as they get up and after eating or napping, out or on the pad. I never was successful with crating. I am sure that everyone else on here can give you better ideas than I have. When we built our new addition here, we installed an electronic door for my old dog (16 years), Chewy. He never got to use it as we had to put him to sleep over a year ago. It is in the front of the house and doesn't connect to the fenced in yard so the yorkies can't use it although if we can scarf up the money we may add to the yard to bring it around to the front. We are still leery of a hawk or owl swooping down on them so I keep an eye out when we're not out with them. If you have a fenced in yard and can put a doggie door in, that is the way I would go, but until they get a brain and can use it, you have to remind them where to go. |

| Well see I will be living in an apartment, but it is on the bottom level right by the door so I would have to take him out all the time. I dunno i guess I will try thy pads at first. Thanks for all your help. If you have any other suggestions on raising a little one please let me know. i am happy to get all the info that I can. Thanks a lot.
