Hi Hi Everyone! I'm new here, my name is YorkieLover. I have 2 yorkies both a male & female. My male is 16 months old and my female is 10 months old. My female is going into her heat cycle and I was wondering if anyone could share their experience with me. I have never had a furbaby to go into the cycle before the age of 1. Honeygirl doesn't act like she feels 100%. There is alot of swelling. She only weighs 4 lbs. Thanks in advance for any information. YorkieLover

I don't think anyone got the jest of what I said. First I don't want to breed her, she will get spayed after this is over. I just wanted to know what to expect during her heat cycle. Thanks. YorkieLover

Your female may seem a bit touchy, and grouchy for the time she is in heat. She will probably, at some point, approach your male and try to get him to mate with her, and at other times she may snap at him. It will usually last about 3 weeks.
