| Is this... normal? Chip is adorable and I love him dearly, but on the 16th he's going to be a year old and still looks like a puppy. His hair hasn't grown any more than the picture below. His little brother is 9 months and already has his adult coat. His picture is second.

| Lacy's got a coarser silky coat that doesn't grow fast at all! She's three years old and her hair is only a medium length (if even that). I'm just letting it grow the best it can. I bought her a fish oil/vitamin E supplement called Eicosaderm. It's be Dermapet www.dermapet.com You have to buy it through a vet. Her hair has definitely been growing faster since we started it.

| I think if you get him trimmed, it will look more like an adult coat because you'll be trimming off his darker puppy hair? BTW, your babies are so cute! D- |

| Well after being on this site so long, I've seen all different kinds of coats on yorkies. My Tink was in full floor length coat at about 15 months. Gizmo grows very silky silky coat on his body quickly but doesn't have hardly any on his ears or legs. Chip is a cutie! |

| My little girl Emma's hair grows more slowly and usually only gets about as long as your babies. However, my girl is a mix of a yorkie and a jack russell terrier so that could have something to do with her coat By the way, I think Chip is SUCH a cutie!! |

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Not sure of the answer to your coat question; they are both cuties. It is amazing to learn from the website all the differences there can be in the shapes, sizes, colors, and hair length growth of purebred yorkies. Maybe if you post your question in the breeders section you might come get your answer quicker.
