| Anyone in the D.C./No. VA region? I'm always looking for play dates for my boys. Just wanted to see if anyone lived around the area.

| The closest current meet up in our area is for a group in Centerville. There was one for Arlington that I went to a couple of times last year and it was really a fun group, but that group is no longer... I just joined the one in Centerville, but it has lots of members (129 listed) and serves all of NoVA. Why not try that one??? The NOVA Yorkies and Friends! (Centreville, VA) - Meetup.com |

| That's a shame you cant make Sundays. Wonder if the group would consider having an occasional meet up on a Saturday, with 127 members you think you could get some support on that request (I would back you up )? I always thought that meet ups would be great places to meet people who could watch your yorkie when you go on vacation, if you were to do the same for them. So far that has not worked out for us, unfortunately... Especially hard if you have 2. Who wants to pay for the old towne pet resort or some other very expensive place you can trust? |

I love yorkie meet ups because it's a great place for the well socialized dogs to get energy out by playing and for other dogs to learn to socialize. Smokey loves everyone - humans, dogs, cats, squirrels - you name it... so meet ups for him is just play time and time for him to get out extra energy. For Chip, it's more for socialization. We've had him since he was 7 weeks and he's very, very, very attached to us and learned no socialization from his mommy, despite everything we've tried. He pretty much stays by my side. I mean, at least he's not running around attacking dogs and people, he just is a mama's boy I guess. Also, for Smokey, I like taking him to meet ups to work on training. People at meet ups generally are more understanding about how dogs can be and will help you work with them and Smokey needs to work on his greeting behavior, so I try to work on that while I'm there.

| You said it! Greeting Behavior is Mr Gatsby's (10 month old) worst issue by far. He is smart, was easy to house train, very affectionate (but no separation anxiety in the least) and loves to play, BUT... he is so darn aggressive when we meet other dogs on walks. It's all show since he calms down in the end and is very friendly to other dogs and people, its just that initial encounter where is gets Yorkie Ferocious on me. Maybe it would not be so bad if he knew he were only 5 lbs, but he sure puts on a show and I have never been able to stop it even after repeated reprimands. Meet Ups would be great for him (so far we have only taken Ms Daisy who is much more friendly on initial encounters). |

| HII!! I went to one of the meet ups a long time ago with Chip and Smokey, but I can't come on the Sunday ones anymore cause I'm stuck working. That is so exciting that there will be Saturday ones coming up! I will definately be bringing the boys up then!
