It's all show since he calms down in the end and is very friendly to other dogs and people, its just that initial encounter where is gets Yorkie Ferocious on me. Maybe it would not be so bad if he knew he were only 5 lbs, but he sure puts on a show and I have never been able to stop it even after repeated reprimands.
Meet Ups would be great for him (so far we have only taken Ms Daisy who is much more friendly on initial encounters). |
Smokey's problem is that he's too friendly. He thinks EVERYONE is his friend and he has to stop to say hi to everyone. If they walk away, he tries to follow. Chip is like a cat - he'll come up to you if he thinks you're not paying attention to get a sniff in, but as soon as you turn to look at him or pet him, he's right back by me faster than you can say his name. He used to not even do that though... he didn't start being more curious about people until we got the over excited lovey dovey Smokey. Also, if we are holding Chip and someone goes to pet him, he tends to snarl, which we are trying to work out of him.
