| Attention: PA www.mlar.org I went to the website of Main Line Animal Rescue today. This group was featured on the Oprah show today. While its very sad to look at some of the stories they have many young dogs on there that would be great companions for just about anyone looking for a Fur friend. I even saw a yorkie on there. They do not adopt outside the PA area so I can not bring home one of their babies. I saw a few babies that I would love to open my home to. The only thing that I can do for them is spread the word to look at this site before choosing a pet store or buying online. You have no idea where those animals come from. My Buddy is adopted from a rescue. We adopted him 4 years ago and he is happy and healthy and I wouldn't have had it any other way. So please look here. You will not be sorry you did.

| I've looked @ that site before. And they don't even adopt outside of the Philadelphia area. Which even leaves me out if I were looking to adopt again.

| They require a fence, so I wouldn't qualify either. It says western suburbs of Philadelphia, you are just umm..more west I guess I mapquest how to get there, and its only 40 min. away from me.

| I know I think that's sorta sad and leaves a lot of good people out of possibly adopting from them.

I, living in Philadelphia, was interested in a dog a couple of years ago and was REJECTED because I don't live in the Main Line.

| I'm just looking thru the regional section and I'm just now seeing your post, Kyle. That's really sad they have such strict rules for adoption location. I don't think Oprah or her producers knew that. Or maybe they did.

ETA: Just looked at their rules and saw that it's because they do site inspections and follow-up. That's all well and good that they want to be sure the dogs are placed in a good home, but this is a little over the top! Last edited by nancyfancypants; 06-24-2008 at 08:32 AM. | |
