| 18 years and now she's gone! I was so happy to find this site. It has been nice to read all the advice and love for Yorkies on this site. I just lost my 18 year old toy yorkie a week ago and looking at all of the posts and photos have brought back so many wonderful memories. My other puppy and my son miss her so much. She has been a part of my family for so long. How can a 3 pound dog make such a huge impact on a household. The house feels empty when I come home from work. I want another Yorkie but will have to wait awhile as the family needs time to heal. I am also afraid of all of these puppy brokers and puppy importers that are now around. My other puppy was supposed to have been bred by Katie Bendlage and a co-owner, only to find out after the fact that she is a puppy importer and my puppy came from Hungary! It has been eye opening to read some of the posts about purchasing puppies and avoiding scams. Wish I would have read them earlier!!! I know for a fact when I get a new puppy it will be from a breeder with both parents on site. If anyone knows of a reputable breeder in Minnesota I would love to know about them. It's been 18 years since my last purchase of a Yorkie and the breeder I purchased Abby from is no longer around. Thanks, Angela |

| Angela, I am so sorry for your loss. It really is heart breaking when we lose one of our furbabies. Don't know if this is the right time or not, but I'm glad you found this site.

| So sorry to hear about your puppy...18 years is a LONG time...almost as long as I have been around... On a side note, welcome to YT, you'll love it here. As far as MN, that is where I grew up, and I might know of a breeder. Don't know what part you're from, but PM me if interested, and I'll see if I can get the details. I hope your family can heal from what horrible heartbreak you must be feeling. Sending hugs and puppy kisses

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | They really can imprint our hearts with those little paws can't they ? I'm so sorry for your loss. 18 years is a really long life for a yorkie you have my condolences...and do be careful when looking - the scams are 1000 times worse than back when you bought your girl. |

| I know the pain of losing part of the family even though it's covered in hair. They are still very much family. Maybe this thread will help you find the next lucky baby for you. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q...N.&btnG=Search |

| Angela, So sorry for your loss. There is at least one breeder on YT from MN. GreenwoodBiewer. She has both traditional yorkies and biewer yorkies. (I am originally from MN myself, and my family is mostly all still there.) http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=80450 Welcome to YT. Janelle

| I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Whether it be 8 years or 18 years, a loss is a loss. May your future be filled with happy memories ... These little Yorkies do leave an impression on us that lasts forever. My thoughts are with you.

| i am so sorry for your loss. I know the feeling. i lost my beautiful, sweet Sugar last september one day before her 18th birthday. She was the love of my life and a mini-poo. i still see her everywhere i look. i remember vividly the day I brought her home as a six week old baby. i love my yorkies dearly but they can never take Sugar's place in my heart. She has been in my mind constantly for two or three weeks and at times the grieve is overwhelming altho I know it was her time to go to the rainbow bridge. Again, I am so sorry for your loss. |

| Hi Tyler's Angel. I'm sorry about your baby. This is a GREAT site with GREAT people. They will be able to lead you to a reputable breeder in your area. We have a 10 year old Yorkie boy that we've had since a pup and we are losing him to cancer. I've found a lot of comfort here at YT. Like you it was hard for us to think about another, but Jersey found our way to us. She was born just a few blocks away from us. When I first got her I felt as if I were replacing Newman before he was ready, but for what it's worth it has really helped us through a difficult time. Again, I'm sorry for your loss. Elaine |
