| [QUOTE=coffeechloe;1225835]Hi Allan Initially, I felt like you, I thought I was disrespecting Chloe and I was a traitor but then I turned it around, I told Chloe (I talk to her picture sometimes) that I had brought Oscar into the house as a tribute to her and to the other dogs I have lost. I also "talked" to Oscar about this brothers and sisters who would have loved to have met him. It sounds silly I know but it has helped me. I believe we all have those feelings, but we honor our pups when we share love with another animal. Bless you and thank you for sharing your deepest feelings. Warmly, Deborah

| OMG! I can just smell all that puppy breath!!! They are too cute. I'm so glad you decided to get another pup. No dog will ever replace my precious Chester, but I love all my current babies to death and wouldn't trade them for anything. We look forward to lots of pics! Jacki |

| As for the name... We have not been telling anyone yet what we are going to name her, but it only seems fitting that I tell everyone on YT since I have shared so much here (and received so much support in return). Anyway, we are planning on calling her.... Yoyo. There is a history to the name though. First, we were considering getting a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. We thought the name Yodel made sense. We then decided her nickname would be Yoyo. Finally, we changed our mind to a lab, but the name stuck. (Granted, we only met the puppy once, so we might change our minds based on her personality, but most likely Yoyo it is!) Allan |

| Thanks Allan for the kind words in the other thread. I do read the threads every day. You are setting the bar for me. (a little high right now, but soon it wont be so high) A guy I know has a highly trained yellow lab. He named the girl lab after a miner's best friend... Brandy (thats what he told me). I've watched him training his lab for hand signals, whistle signals, and voice commands. The lab can find a raw egg and bring it back without breaking it. I believe the dog is smarter than a 5th grader. lol GL with the pup. Last edited by dave54; 07-17-2007 at 09:41 PM. |

| I love the name Yoyo...that's really cute and different! And I have to say also, that your choice of "Yodel" for a Swiss Mountain Dog was really great too...love them both! Good luck with the new addition to your family; you're such a caring owner, I know you won't need it though!

| You ought to read Marley & Me. I heard it on tape, and his voice was a bit nasally, but the stories about his new LAB puppy made you laugh and cry. Love the photo! |

| Hi all, A few things - first, I plan on getting Marley & Me. We were watching the dog whisperer a few weeks back, and Cesar was visiting the author of the book. (His new lab was not behaving well....) Second, despite the imminent arrival of our new puppy (Yoyo), I still get really sad when I think about Zackie. I cried realy hard this past Sunday for the first time in a while. Although the pain lessens, it never truly disappears. Third, here is another, newer pic of our new puppy. (She is the one on the left.) We are picking her up a week from Friday! -Allan |
