| What a beautiful tribute to your beautiful companion. I also lost my Sophie, 13 yo. on January 23 and I also had to help her cross the Rainbow Bridge. I thought my heart would also break and said many times "there isn't a patch kit for a broken heart". She was my first Yorkie and the first that was truly mine. This sad story does have a happy ending though. Last Saturday, I welcomed the most wonderful 10 yo. Yorkie male named Charlie whom I adopted through United Yorkie Rescue. Both of us of not perfect in health and both older, but we are perfectly suited. Bless you and I do know how you heart is aching. I am going to send you a pm with a wonderful link that helped me through this very difficult time. Warmly, Deborah

| I am in tears over your loving tribute to Kassie Kisses. What a sweet name for a darling little yorkie! I am so sorry for your loss and please accept my heartfelt sympathy. I know how you were feeling to come to the decision you did. I have had to put down a dog and my sister had to have her beloved Rhett Butler put down. They seem to be grateful for this final act of love given them. It is just so hard. I've recently lost my Mom and it has been so heartbreaking. I miss her so much and so has my little yorkie, Maddie. Maddie was so depressed and missed her so much. A couple of weeks ago I got another little Yorkie girl that I named Libby. She has brought joy to Maddie and I and I only wish my Mom could see her. I hope some day you can get yourself a new companion that can make you smile. I know he/she would never replace Kassie, but would make your heart smile once again. Rest in Pease little Kassie...you were dearly loved and now missed. I'm so sorry for your loss. *HUG*

| In the meantime Dear Yorkie friends, I honestly don't know where to begin, though if I may, believe I should begin with an apology, I am so sorry, I did so want to reply to each and every one of your heatfelt words of encouaragement, the all encompassing empathy you have shown for Kassie and I, as many of you have experienced, it's very difficult to type through tear filled eyes, add to that, unable to type, well I can use two fingers. I am, have been in sort of a daze, I guess one could say a mild form of shock, I'm just so over-whelmed with your expressions of love, and concern for a total stranger here, though have come to learn that is the charactoristic of the Yorkie Talk Community, and thankful, grateful to have found you. Adding to the difficulty of being unable to reply to each one, is I haven't been able to spend much time in here, I pop in, try to reply to one of your post and just haven't been able to remain long enough to answer all the post, as this past wekend we had a Nor'Easter here in Jersey, many areas hit with flooding, and unfortunately my duaghter lives in an apartment complex right on the bank of the Raritan River, needles to say the river over flowed it's banks, and she had to be evacuated along with her precious cat, and they both have been with me until yesterday, when the township gave them the ok to return, and knowing your hearts, may I say, no she didn't suffer any loss physically or materially, the water only got to about 4 feet high at her front porch, so fortunate it didn't enter her apartment, another foot it would have been another story, so friends please don't worry, all is well now. I'm explaining all this, hoping you undertsand why I haven't replied to all your post, and PM's, it's not that I'm purposely being rude or ignoring anyone, hope that you will forgive me, and be patient with me please, I am going to try and reply to all. Please allow for my inability to type, check speeling, and just maybe to much yakking, perhaps shed a tear or two, that being so, I am continually being timed out For the moment, may I sincerely thank you Yorkie friends for all your support, your kindness, and thoghtful words of encouargement, you will never know how humbled I feel. Thank you very, very much. Gratefully Papi

| She was beautiful ... i'm crying as I type this.... I too lost my baby and remember those kisses to be so precious. You are a very loving unselfish man and there will be a pair of wings and a little yorkie waiting for you in heaven some day. Thank you for sharing your story and opening my heart again! |

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Bless you, Papi. I couldn't help but get teary-eyed reading your tribute to little Kassie. I'm glad to hear the Nor'Easter didn't damage you any further. You've already had more than your share. Kassie was a beautiful girl and a lucky one, too, seeing how much you loved her. You said you did the worst thing you ever did. Never think that. You did the most unselfish and loving thing you could for your dear baby. To have kept her with you and prolonged her suffering would have been selfish. Instead, you found the courage to put her first. That's not easy to do. Sometimes, it's a lot harder to give up than it is to fight. At least with fighting you feel like you are in motion, going somewhere, doing something. So I prefer to think of it not as giving up the fight, but to give up your sweet girl because it was such an incredible sacrifice on your part. But it was also the kindest thing for your little girl. Thoughts and prayers are with you. Last edited by Ozzie'sperson; 04-20-2007 at 10:16 AM. |

| What a beautiful tribute to such a precious little baby. May your memories sustain you through this difficult time. My wish for you is that one day you'll think of her and smile....never remembering the "tough times". I too am in NJ and the flooding has been horrible. Seems to be subsiding now.

| I am so sorry for your loss. Having lost a yorkie baby myself to an acute aspiration pneumonia, I know how you feel and I command you for the strength you had to reach out. This site is a supportive community. We are here for you in case you need anything. Your beautiful girl cannot be brought back, but she sure will be remembered by all of us. It should make you feel a little better, I hope. Write some more. To me, the experience was really cathartic. You can always create an online journal for her, if you want. It helps in your grieving process. What's important is to know and remember that reaching out is good. You should not be alone. |

Your crying , for that matter causing anyone to come to tears was something I wish I could have avoided, and what I feared may happen, though have come to the realization that no one can put a lock on a Yorkie lovers heart, there care and concern must be freely expressed, and in so doing we come to comfort, uplift one another, where can else can we go. "She was gorgeous", thank you red98vett for those kind words, and for being so thoughful. Thank you very much. Papi
