Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | Regarding April our Yew, RIP April I just couldn't help but post here regarding our April, they have been such a help to us with their grazing to keep down the weeds. We have always been so thankful in having them especially living in a forest here in the mountains. We lost our yew today, she was fourteen years old and what a pet, I know Phoebe is going to be lost without her, that is our other yew, they were twin sisters. Sheep can make real nice pets as well as great grazers. We sure are going to miss her. I have a picture of them in our gallery but will try to post it here also, and now I am concerned cause generally the other one don't last long after one goes April was really the most gentle of the two and was so friendly, when she would see the light go on in the house in the mornings, one could hear her baa'ing in the pasture, I sure am going to miss her. |

Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | Thanks Mike, Kelly, and Corrine Oh, it is so difficult to loose our pets, I can't quit thinking of April and it is now going on one in the morning. I don't think I can sleep. I have to get someone with a tractor this morning, what a dreadful task this will be. I think we will try to place Phoebe with someone close by that has other sheep, we just don't want her to be alone cause I know she won't last. We had them sheared before summer. It is so funny to watch when they first get sheared they don't recognize one another and but heads, every year they would do this, till they finally figured out who each other was. I always bought them carrots and how they loved getting the dropped fruit from our trees, and just last week when watermelon was on special I got them one, yes I sure did spoil them but like I always told everyone they sure earned their keep by helping us keep down the weeds in the pasture. So glad I took pictures of them through the years. I am sure going to miss going out and calling them,"Baby Baby Babies, hurry hurry hurry," to give them treats, they always came running. |

| I just wanted to let you know how sorry I am about April. I truly understand the pain that you are going through. I like you lost a pet not long ago, it was my 21 month old Friesian Stallion. He was born at our barn and was laid to rest on our land. My heart goes out to you and your family. |

| Sending my deepest condolences to both you and Phoebee. I know you both will be lost without her. It sounds like April had a live that any sheep would envy -- any human for that matter. Who could possibly want more than a life filled with a trusted friend/sister; good food, fresh air, and warm companionship from others. hugs.... |

Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | Long sleepless night Thanks everyone, I am about ready to see if I can get some sleep, long night. We was so thankful to get a local rancher to come with his tractor and help us out burying April. I think we already have a home for Phoebe, the people have sheep so she won't be lonesome. I had penned her in while he was here and couldn't believe Phoebe managed to get that gate open she didn't want to leave April, what a awful time we had managing her. I have a picture of helping them out this spring with the weeds, they sure did love the slopes, we are really going to miss them, thanks for all your kind words and thoughts for us. I know we are doing the right thing by placing Phoebe with these nice people and am sure she will be better amongst other sheep. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Patti I am so sorry for the loss of your beloved April. It looks like she had a wonderful life with you and will still enjoy mowing the lawn at the Rainbow Bridge. While it must be hard to send Phoebe to be with her own kind it sounds like it is the best option for her. Rest in peace April.

Our Blessings R Many Donating Member | Thanks so much everyone To update everyone on Phoebe, she didn't want to cooperate in making a new move so we will keep her till she settles down, it is hard for her not having April so we decided to wait a bit. When feeding time comes she looks and looks for her sister, it is really sad and makes it so much sadder for us in loosing April. If anyone knows anything about sheep then you can relate to how they will stomp their hoof and put their head down like a bull and charge, this is what she seems to be doing a lot of. I think it is because she is alone and maybe frightened. My thinking now is, we should see about borrowing a lamb from the people, maybe that will help her, and then make the move easier for her and she will be with it going to the new home. I am picking up a marker to put on April's grave today and will plant a pretty myrtle bush there, we sure miss her. Patti and Jack |
