RIP Dudley baby

A true testament that you can help your babies when they are diagnosed with kidney disease. 7 years - what an amazing mom you are! I was only able to extend my Presley's life for 2 years after being diagnosed with kidney disease. But, his age (17 1/2) had a big factor in that as well.

for all the sweet replies. I have cried a million tears since he passed away and felt like the light went out of my world. You have been a great help. I got a new baby last weekend. He isn't Dudley, but he loves me already and he gives me a reason to get up in the morning.

I know how you feel about Dudley. I was just in a constant state of sadness after losing Minnie and it wasn't until I got Cookie a couple of months later that life started feeling food again. And yeah, Cookie wasn't Minnie; a very different personality, very different looks, but a barrel of loving fun just like Minnie.

I'm excited to hear you got a pup! Can you tell us about his personality? Any photos? Anything that cracks you up about your new pup? Potty training a chore? lol

I think I am losing my mind. I was sitting here and my little puppy Mickey went out the door and wouldn't come in. I shut the door and waited about 10 seconds and opened it and up the stairs he came. My room mate says "Oh he is just like someone else I know." I just lost it. She was talking about Dudley but didn't want to say his name. It sent me into a deep depression that I can't seem to shake. How can people think that it is kinder to never say the name of my baby? I haven't forgotten him for a second. Please people, talk and let me talk about Dudley so that I know he stills lives in our memories. It is so important to me that people understand how I feel. Is that too much to ask? Thank you for letting me vent.

I totally get it, losing one of these little love bugs IS one of the hardest things to endure. I still can't talk about Shelby without feeling a knife in my heart but with all of the pain, I know I am so lucky to have had her in my life. I too have a new puppy and I adore her. I am at the point of enjoying her sameness and her differences. I laugh and compare her to Shelby and it makes others know it's okay to do so. Everyone is just trying to protect you. Talk about Dudley so they knows it's what you want. Peace be with you.
