As I was reading this post, my heart was breaking for you. I can't imagine your grief right now. I will be praying for you and your newborn pup. I am sure that this baby that surived will be a comfort for you soon and am so very sorry for your loss of your baby Maddie please take comfort in the joy of life and know much love and light is coming your way from all of us at YT and beyond ..

Oh Heather. This is so sad. Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you. It sounds like you did all that could based on what you were told by your vet. Don't blame yourself!

I can truly sympathize with you and your pain. A little over a month ago I lost my precious angel Katie and then the next day my beloved mother. I am still not over it so I can't offer any advice on that (as of yet) because this is all still so new for me. But I can tell you that you will deal with A LOT of different emotions -- pain, anger, rage, helplessness, etc. Just try to express yourself and don't keep all those feelings bottled up inside. I tried to do that in the beginning and I ended up losing my temper after seeing a home video and my mom and Katie -- I went into my kitchen and smashed all my dishes and glasses all over the floor and walls. I was just so enraged and angry that I couldn't control myself. But after I calmed down, I was able to see that I was out of control because I was not expressing my pain -- I was keeping it all inside and not crying. So please if you feel like you want to yell then YELL! If you want to cry, then cry and let it out. If you would like to talk some more, please feel free to PM me. Again I am so sorry for your loss. You're in my prayers. :(

Heather please keep your male dog away from the puppy, you dont want him around this little gal for quite sometime yet. Also please dont cover her up with a blanket she can get caught up and suffocate. As I mentioned before find a fluffy soft stuffed animal for her to cuddle up to, that and the heat pad under her bottom blanket will be enough. Keep your room tempture up to 75 at all times right now as well.

Do yourself a favor, call your vet this morning, inquire if there is a female toy dog he knows of that recently had a litter, perhaps you can find a foster mom for this little one which will be her best chance for survival. There are many breeders in your area I am sure there should be one that would be happy to help you.

I can\'t give you any advise other than listen to the breeders who have given their thoughts. All I can do is say I am so sorry for your loss, and my thoughts and prayers are for you and the little one who is left. You are right, there is only one word to describe it, and that is "devistating."

I\'m so sorry to hear about your loss. I wish there was something that would make that empty achey feeling in your heart go away. Just remember all the wonderful memories that you had with Maddie. My prayers are with you, and the little one you are now taking care of.

Just give Monkey time and lots of it, He misses Maddie as much as you do. I believe that dogs sense emotions and they don\'t like change very much. If he got along so well with Maddie I am sure that he will learn how to love this little one too. How is Maddie\'s miracle this morning anyways?
