It was not my imagination...matter of fact the way he communicated with me was through another pup and he did it with two other people who also loved him...my son and my friend. I know they watch over us...that one convinced me of it! I wish you peace ...

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying...you found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear.
"It's me, I haven't left you...I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea.
You were thinking of the many times, your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at the shops today, your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, you tend it with such care.
I want to reassure you that I am not lying there.

I walked with you toward the house, as you fumbled for your key,
I gently put my paw on you. I smiled and said, "It's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you every day.
To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...
In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over...I smile and watch you yawning
And say, "Goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we will stand, side-by-side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out...then come home to be with me.

I was tearing up reading that poem last night. God it still hurts to lose Minnie.

I still love reading your blog and seeing photos of Paris every once in a while. What a wonderful thing you did to preserve his memory forever for the world to see.

I took a class on dreams and look to your own words to find the meaning, no one can tell you what your dream means, but often your words give vital clues and that's why writing a dream down is so important, we can really "hear" our words. I think the first dream says that she’s still with you, you just can’t hug her. I’m not sure about the second dream, but it seems to be saying that she’s has her hair back, (she's okay, looks and feels good)but you can’t take her physically home. Your third dream is saying it exactly, ”she was around but I still couldn't touch her.” I think the final dream is someday, you will be reunited physically and you can actually hold your baby again. So bottom line, I believe that Gidget is telling you she's fine, she's with you and she's no longer in pain and although you can't hug her physically, you can hug her mentally and someday you'll be together again.

We recently lost our sweet little Cassie. We had her for almost 14 years and she was the heart of the house. The dreams I have had about her have been many and so very real! I do believe they come back to visit.

I have a photo of Skeeter I just had to take. He and Adie grieved so when Cassie died. This photo is of Skeeter in Cassie's bed looking very sad. Next to the bed and just a few inches above Skeeter's little body is an orb. I KNOW that orb is Cassie's energy. I don't know how long they stay around but I am sure they do.

As far as letting go, that is totally up to you. We all grieve for different lengths of time and in different manners. I think a lot of your dreams might be coming from that grief but not all of them. If you talk to her as her for a sign. You will get it just like Lady Jane did.

Hugs
L

Default I feel your pain

I'm so sorry about your little one, I myself am nursing two older yorkies with both with kidney failure and one has enlarged heart too. So I will eventually have to make the same decision your did with euthanasia. I just want you to know that I suffer from PTSD and I seek treatment for it and it has changed my life greatly. One of the things that really helps is journaling. Just get a tablet or journal and keep it close. When ever you have thought or feelings about gidget just start to write. It doesn't have to make sense, it doesn't have to be in complete sentences. (ie, I miss you terribly, I feel guilt, etc.)
By writing it down you will get it out of your brain and be able to deal with all these emotions better. I hope this helps! I'm sending you and gidget a prayer.

Boy, this post.. I think it is a good one, one we can all vent on what we have gone through after loosing our loved ones, pets or otherwise.

I do believe that after having lost, in a traumatic way, it is definately PSTD, it can take a long time to get through that.

I have lost many and had a lot of dreams. A sheltie I had was attacked and took two weeks before he finally died.

Of course, the worst was loosing our only child. Her boyfriend shot her in the back. She was only 20. It has been 10 years now, but it still haunts me in my dreams at times. The PSTD hung on for around 5 years. It is 'softer' now, but I just try to only think of the good times and when the horror part pops in I push it out. Have to.

Since then, I have lost 3 yorkies. One, was very close to our daughter and she just went downhill after we lost her. One had collapsed trachea but survived for 4 years with it. The other Angel, had CP and survived 7 years, she was a miracle. She saved my life because she needed constant care that I needed to give.

OK sorry everyone, but my fingers just kept typing. Guess I needed to get that out.

Unlove Butterfly

OMGosh, I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter! I was never lucky enough to have children, so my yorkies are my children. You sound like you are handling the pain well, I can't even imagine the hurt. I've always said I love my yorkies soooo much I feel like I gave birth to them myself, however I would imagine the love you felt for you daughter is a million times the love I have for my yorkies. Bless your heart, and your daughter too!!

I can't imagine the pain that a mother experiences at the loss of a child. It just isn't supposed to be like that. Parents are supposed to die before their children do. I'm so sorry for the loss of your daughter.
