| Halie(R.I.P) Two weeks ago I got a call from my crying ex-girlfriend that she had bad news for me. Our beloved and playful Halie had stopped breathing after a few hours in the pool chasing her ball. It wasn't till several minutes out of the pool she noticed that Halie wasn't herself and then stopped breathing. In several attempts to revive her that did not work she ended up taking Halie to the Vet. Unfortunately it was too late and there was nothing they could do for her........she was already gone. I was so sad after I got off the phone with my ex because it all happened so quickly and I never got to say goodbye. However, when she called me she had our baby in her arms with her. I told her to give her a kiss for me and tell her I loved her. That was my goodbye. She wasn't even 3 yrs of age and so full of fun. All she wanted everyday of her life was to fetch her ball. She would do that till she literally fell asleep. I had split custody of her with my ex so I would go pick her up along with our other yorkie Abbie. My favorite time with Halie is when we would go outside in my backyard and I would throw the ball against my back wall and she would jump up and grab them right out of the air. She wouldn't miss a beat and the one's that she missed she would run as fast as she could to grab them. It was so funny to watch her because her little body would get so low to the ground running after these balls. She would know where the balls are in my house so anytime I would go near them she would get all excited because she knew it was time to play outside in the backyard. She is the best dog I ever had and I will miss her very much. She had so much more fetching in her but am sure if there is a doggy heaven thats what she is doing right now. I just wish I could be the one throwing the ball..........Love you Halie Jade!!! |

| I am so very very sorry for your loss of Halie. It is always hard, but I think it is especially hard when you aren't there and when it is so sudden at a young age. I hope you can find peace in knowing that your best friend, Halie, obviously had a joyous and fun filled life with you and your ex. She led a life most dogs will never know - in that, try to take comfort. This hole in your heart will lessen in time. It will always be there, but it WILL lessen. So, just take it one day at a time - grieve as much as you need to. Don't let anyone make you feel as if you shouldn't. Your heart knows what it needs. Spend lots of extra puppy kissing time with Abbie. That will help a little each day also. Hugs to you and I'm sorry we met under these circumstances. Rest In Peace, sweet darling Halie!

| I am so sorry for your loss. Halie sounds like an amazingly fun Yorkie who really had some fun in her short little life. You will forever have those good memories, but for now I know your heart is hurting and she will be missed. Hugs to you and Abbie.

| I am so sorry about the loss of your little precious Halie....did you/girlfriend have a necropsy performed? That would help with the "why?" question, especially with her at such a young age.....so sad..... |

| I am so sorry for your loss of precious Halie Jade. She certainly gave you lots of love and happiness. Her little life was too short on this earth, but now she is running around and playing ball without a care in the world! Losing our babies is so difficult and I cannot express how very sorry I am during this most trying time. |

| I'm deeply saddened by your loss, jbear. Just hang tough and don't be afraid to let your emotions out here if you need a place; that's what we're here for and I think most of us have very deep connections to our little dogs too. Thank you for sharing your story of Halie with us. Do you have any of her tennis balls to save to help remember the good times? I buried a couple of things with my Minnie when she passed, but have mostly put her stuff away in a safe place (e.g., her harness and her clothes) for when I'm ready to look at them again. Just not many things that bring a smile to my face like the excitement of a yorkie. RIP little Halie You guys sound like you brought so much joy into the world for each other, so it's such a great thing that you guys found each other. | I just have to think Halie had the most precious of gifts in this world: to be born and to be with people who love her so. |
