| My 12 week old yorkie died My 12 week old yorkie died I only had her 2 weeks....she had congenital kidney failure... I did take her to the vet the day I got her they said she looked great. Then she wasn't looking good yesterday and I took her back to the vet. The did blood work and told me she needs to be admitted to the hospital. She had something wrong with her kidneys! I said omg I took her right away and they told me it didn't look good for her. I cried so bad I said how, why? She was my baby. They said one kidney shut down and they thought she had an infection so they were going to treat her. They said we need to sedate her a tiny bit to put a cath in I said well I know that can be very dangerous for such as small dog...the doctor who is wonderful and really tried to save her said well she needs iv antibiotics I said ok but please be so careful. She called me hours later saying he heart stopped and the were trying to bring her back. My baby died I am heart broken she was my love, my companion, my heart.... she was everything I always wanted. And now gone in a blink of and eye... be careful when buying puppies your you could end up like me. I am so scared now... how will I ever know when getting a puppy if it has problems... I called the breeder she said ok what do you want me to do? I can give you your money back but I will not take her back... she really doesn't care about the dogs only her pocket... She had congenital kidney failure...I tried everything to save her but wasn't enough... |

| This is so sad brought a tear to my eye. Why didnt the vets pick this up in the health check. When we first got our yorkie i was constantly checking on him even woke up during the night just to make sure he was breathing. So so sorry about your little one.

| OH, I am so sorry! As for the breeder,if she is willing to return your money, take it. Put it in a safe place for later. The breeder seems to be more into the money than the little lives that she is responsible for. There will come a time when you are ready to let your heart love another little furbaby, the timing is up to you. I would like to urge you to spend some time here, doing research and making friends with those of us that really do understand how you feel. There will always be a place in your heart for this little one. |

| I am so sorry for what you are enduring now....take the money back from the breeder.....she should also be picking up the vet bills on this precious little soul that SHE is responsible for bringing into this situation. At the very least, get your money back on the cost of little Baby Bella. Then, when the pain of the loss you are experiencing now, is not as raw, you can get another little baby that wont take Bella's place, but will certainly make her own place in your heart! In the meantime, you stay here and read and ask questions and learn.....and when you are ready for your new baby, find a reputable, ethical, responsible, breeder FIRST...one that cares for her babies almost as much as she loves her own children, because she knows she alone is responsible for litters she produces....and she stands by them for the life of that baby! |

| I am so very sorry for your loss, like other said take the money and run, what about the hospital costs, that could easily have been higher than the cost of the pup I don't know what type of health checks the vets do on puppies in the UK, but unless you request more the ones here pretty much just look the dog over, listen to their heart, feel their knees and if you bring one in, run a stool sample. I doubt that type of check up would have shown up the kidney problem. What I did with Lola was paid extra to have a complete blood panel done on her the morning after I got her, I am not a vet so I don't know if kidney problems like this pup had would have shown up but I wanted a base line and more information than a touchy feely check up would have given me

| Me deepest sympathies to you on your loss of sweet Bella. What a sudden and horrible thing to go through. I am so sorry for your pain. Please know that you did all you could do for little Bella. You truly did. As for the breeder and the money, take your money back. I know Bella will always be your heart and you will never stop missing her and always love her, but in time...your heart will heal enough that you are ready to love another puppy. You will have that money set aside for when that time comes. I know it seems impossible - but that time WILL come, Sweetie. Hugs!!!

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am so sorry for the sudden loss of Bella. I had a similar situation. I had gotten Pixie at 13 months from a reputable show breeder and she was just what I wanted. I also had my older pom and a 18 month old yorkie who I had gotten from a BYB and had many health issues. One day Pixie's breeder called me and said she had a little female that was 4 months old and was going to be just like Pixie and she wanted me to get her. So I went and picked her (Dixie) up a few days later. After about 3 weeks I noticed when she peed it was colorless and odorless. She was pretty laid back but all of mine are. Just wanting to check it out I took her in and they did blood work and urinalysis. Her kidney levels were so high they didn't register on the vets chart. I was devastated. I called the breeder and we both cried and she said she would have never sold her to me if she had known and I knew she wouldn't have. Even though my vet said there was nothing to be done I took her to a specialist and spent thousands on tests and medicines only to have her put to sleep a week later. My breeder told me that when I was ready she would give me another puppy. A month later she called and offered me my Roxie. When I went to pick her up she also helped with some of the medical bills. So my point is there is nothing you can do sometimes to prevent this from happening and a good breeder will grieve with you and do the right thing. I hope when you feel up to it you can get the money and use it to help heal your heart with another precious one.
