When we picked up Kelli's ashes last night, there was a card in with her box. I thought it might help other people here to see it:

When a pet passes on, there is an emptiness, a place in your heart that will never again be filled in the same way. Try to remember the playful moments, the quiet moments, and the love you shared. These are the memories of your friend that you can always treasure. You will miss your pet, whose passing leaves a gap in your family but will always be present in your heart. No matter how many pets you have over the years, each is unique, a friend, and when they go away, your life is changed forever. We would like to express our deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved pet.

I just thought it would be good for those of you that are going through the same heartache that we are to see this. I waited to read it this morning, and it did give me some more peace.

If I may ask? How will you display her ashes?

Of course you can ask. We've placed her box (which is engraved with her name and the years of her life on top, with "Our Beloved Pet" engraved on the front) in our cabinet in the living room. She's surrounded by a praying beanie baby bunny and I'm going to place a framed picture of her on the other side.

Ah, that sounds very nice, and a great tribute to her.

if you can see me right this minute you would just die.. my eyes are all red and the tears are just flowing down my face.. this mad me so so sad just the thought, oh no more tears..sorry...i just hope you are ok...
